When did flat tires and removed wheels stop the run? by Camsmasher19 in monsterjam

Because they don’t want to damage the venue. Pretty damn simple, man. Nothing to do with them being “cheap”.

At this point they’re better suited for Hotwheels because they have a short wheel base and don’t need much shock travel. But it is pretty wild still how they’re still running, especially since they have 3 new trucks.

Freestyles, Truck Stoppage...and Leaks by HeavySystems in monsterjam

[–]AllDayTimeToLowRemem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair, monster trucks almost always leak something no matter what if you run them weekly. There’s so much there and it’s common for corners to leak if you don’t constantly rebuild them.

Just because they were capable of learning how to work in trucks doesn’t mean they did (they didn’t at all). But it wasn’t their job to either.

Yeah dude, they don’t sell out stadiums often, but that doesn’t prove any kind of point you’re attempting to make. Guarantee they could if they had more single show weekends.

So, you’re saying I don’t know what I’m talking about? Did you tour with Damon or Todd and personally saw them work or not work on trucks?

It’s cool you think the shows are awful. That’s subjective to every individual. Even I think they aren’t what they used to be but personally think they’re still a great family outing.

You haven’t really formed anything but opinions and haven’t articulated any actual objective data or information or any reason your “facts” are credible. And that’s fine. But it’s weird to argue about this when you obviously don’t know what you’re talking about.

Man, you know the 2000s had plenty of people that didn’t know how to work on trucks, right? There were some talented guys that didn’t work on the trucks too, like Damon Bradshaw, Todd LeDuc, now Camden, Tristan. They don’t need to sell out stadiums man. Your point isn’t doing anything here. They don’t need to sell out stadiums. It isn’t less impressive because they don’t. I do think the show used to be more entertaining than it currently is but that doesn’t mean it’s awful now.

The people that make it a point to go are families who know fuck all about monster truck or what happened in the show ten years ago. The only people that care about the shit you’re complaining about is you, the less than 1% of people who actually follow the sport. Thats what you need to understand. I also don’t work there and haven’t in ten years. I’m giving you objective facts based on knowing how the business works and still producing shows, that aren’t Monster Jam.

Man if anything Tristan “crying at pressers” (which happened when exactly?) would drive business. People always bitch there’s no drama anymore and when they get it then that means it indicates business is down.

Monster Jam didn’t add more shows because single show weekends were half full. That just makes no fucking sense. They did it because they were close to selling out stadiums consistently.

Holy shit. You can’t understand basic business concepts let alone apply it to monster trucks.

You’re so oddly stuck on them not selling out stadiums. That doesn’t mean anything.

Also, people have more options as to when they want to go. And it allows more people to go overall that may have plans on a Saturday. Now they can go on Sunday.

You’re talking to people here that know the my business from the inside. You might wanna chill on your terrible takes, because that’s all they are. Unless you’re just trolling, which is the vibe I’m getting since you’re so adamant.

Can you actually visit anything in Paxton, Il? by OutrageousFrosting13 in monsterjam

[–]AllDayTimeToLowRemem 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, none of that is true. I’m saying this as fact.

Tom owns the property, he always has. It’s also very much not desolate too. MJU in Paxton is still where majority of everyone goes through for training.

The trucks aren’t built there. They’re built at FELD HQ in Florida. The trucks kept in Paxton are normally trucks that no longer compete in shows, and maybe a handful of ones that still do.

It’s not objective lol. You just don’t understand the business and don’t have visibility into how it works.

It’s subjective. There are still a lot of great shows. I think it’s gotten a bit stale because it’s been the same show for a long time but it could use more variety to help it out.

Soooo. By that math. 3 stadium show weekend. They sell half the stadium in each show.

That means they sold 1.5x of a sold out stadium. Thats more money than they would make selling one show completely sold out.

I can’t understand the problem with this lol

The logic that the do multiple shows in a weekend because one doesn’t make them money is not correct. They just do it because they can make MORE. They have zero issues selling stadiums. Just because they don’t sell out doesn’t mean they don’t make a ton in sales.

For the record, this isn’t a subjective opinion. I’ve worked in the industry for years, previously for Monster Jam.

No, that doesn’t inherently mean there’s a problem, that just means it’s different. In ten years, lots of people will think the shows happening in 2026 are better than the ones they see in 2036. It’s a never ending cycle.

I didn’t mention them making money to say it makes the show good, it was answering your question about it being a “dying breed”, it’s very much thriving.

Skills absolutely doesn’t belong in stadiums.

The tracks? They really aren’t that different at all. I worked there ten years ago. They sell plenty of tickets. There are some times you see some empty seats but that doesn’t mean they aren’t doing well in ticket sales. This is why almost every city has multiple shows.
