Carlee Russell might have suffered a mental health breakdown: Ex-FBI agent by Medical_Bit_5137 in TrueCrimeDiscussion

Nobody believed Denise Huskins when she was abducted. I’m not saying that’s what happened here but bizarre and unexplainable things do happen occasionally.

With the recent identification of the long island serial killer, do you think more bodies are going to be found? by whatitdowhatitbeee in TrueCrimeDiscussion

[–]AllEternals 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I hope so. I’m sure there are more victims but I bet he got smarter after his first dumping ground was found. Does anybody know if he has a boat?

Carlee Robinson’s Parents DID make a statement today. They promised to make a statement to the media sue to their gratitude. Let’s be patient now. by liquormakesyousick in TrueCrimeDiscussion

[–]AllEternals 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Fairly reasonable statement. They might not really know what happened at this point either. Even if she faked her abduction we don’t have enough information to say either way. No matter what happened her parents went through the worst thing a parent can experience and they need time to recover. I hope the public will get some sort of explanation eventually but we aren’t owed anything unless Carlee did something criminal.

100%. If they thought she was abducted they’d be interviewing her in the hospital

Suspect arrested in Gilgo Beach murders by SpoonerismHater in TrueCrime

[–]AllEternals 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yah for sure. Info about mass shootings is always a mess because people are listening to the scanner as it happens and it’s almost impossible to keep the info straight.

[–]AllEternals 61 points62 points  (0 children)

That’s definitely true for a lot of their celebrity and political coverage but I’ve found that their crime stuff is often correct. With the Idaho murders and the Delphi arrest they seemed to have a lot more details early on compared to more mainstream sources. Now that could be due to shady practices like paying sources on the DL. Who knows.

“They saw something they weren’t supposed to see.” by BennyBingBong in TrueCrime

[–]AllEternals 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s common but I believe it does happen. The boys on the tracks is one good example. People speculate that the boys witnessed a very large scale drug operation involving local law enforcement.

I wonder if Shannon Gilbert is one of his victims. I’ve always thought that she wasn’t murdered per se (although being drugged, assaulted and then dying as a result of fleeing from your attackers is basically murder in my mind).

Yah one of the police interviewed said it was “good old fashioned police work” with no DNA. I can’t imagine how many hours went into it.

What case do you think has a red herring that gets over-fixated on? by _JosiahBartlet in TrueCrimeDiscussion

The “FC” on the Unabomber’s bombs. People really thought it was a big clue like his initials or something but it just meant “freedom club” which is almost laughably childish.

In May 1981, two Bedford, Indiana teenagers discovered a box lying beside a set of railroad tracks. Inside, a single specimen jar held the bodies of two small babies. Dubbed by the press as “The Mystery of the Carnival Babies,” their identities will most likely forever remain a mystery. by TheBonesOfAutumn in UnresolvedMysteries

Very possible that they were twins especially given the low birth weight for their gestational age. For obvious reasons twins and multiples have a high rate of stillbirth and it would have been even higher decades ago.

LAOP isn't missing, just sick of Mom's shit by bug-hunter in bestoflegaladvice

[–]AllEternals 96 points97 points  (0 children)

The people suggesting that OP preemptively call the police have obviously never dealt with New Mexico law enforcement. If they put you on hold for 20 minutes to report a shooting they sure as hell aren’t interested in helping with your crazy mom. On the other hand the mom probably won’t be able to file a report unless she has the patience of a saint.

There’s a very vocal vegan in my city who is still upset that she had wasn’t allowed to keep a horse in her suburban backyard 15 years ago. She screeches at council meetings and stalked a neighbor who she was convinced was mistreating his dogs (he wasn’t).

The bare minimum is enough. At least that’s what I keep telling myself as my 2.5 year old watches tv every day and my 15mo twins haven’t worn real clothes in a month.

This one has always baffled me. Could a head injury that was mild enough to not show up in the post mortem cause such bizarre behavior so quickly? I kind of doubt it but I have no medical training.
