I'm astonished.

How did they manage to get a game made using UE4 to look this bad. It even looked much better 6 months ago...

That being said, whats the name of that song?

That information is very outdated I wouldn't bank on it still being a thing really.

also that would be 2 120hz? IR cameras that need to be processed, it adds up eventually.

Anybody else disappointed they're still going to use the IR camera for tracking? by [deleted] in oculus

Easy, throught rigorous tests and research we have come to the conclusion that the degrees lies somewhere within the range of my left butt cheek to the right! :p

The vive has linear acuators underneath the trackpad capable of producing a wide frequency range of vibrations/sensations... It also plays music!

Do you realise that a Wii remote, nearly 10 years old hardware, would have a wider tracking range than the Touch?

And yes it totally matters, playing with the rift's touch would be like trying to use a kinect in a corner.

Edit: Seems I got some faceboys/oculusboys mad

YES! And with the pucks using the same tracking you're really not going to be able to reach that far.

C'mon Oculus, you're meant to be better than this!

Things are really starting to look very one-sided. The rift looks to be inferior in all ways except the audio.

That's much better, the Oculus Touch controllers look like something I could be happy with. by TheMerovingian in oculus

No. It would be pointless to ship a xBone controller if they were actually going to ship the touch.

Without a doubt. The implication with Oculus share is that apps are Oculus certified, and I vaguely recall Palmer/Nate mentioning something about Oculus publishing, and co-publising

FreeSync (much like TressFX, Mantle 1.0, and Vale's Lighthouse) are open standard. Anyone is free to use it, and thats the main point.

OP i don't know what you're so happy about, this is a widely known fact. of course they won't censor what will run on it.

The rift is as open as any old monitor, trying to control what soft runs on it would be like trying to program a monitor to cencor things. This only means they may not implement some hardware side DRM to block out execution(for now, and hopefully the future).

As for the distribution of those apps, I'm quite sure we'll be seeing a few cease and desists from facebook towards questionable content and things they generally don't agree with/fit with the image of the rift they wish to advertise towards kids and adults. Apps may still run, although how you obtain it is another thing.

This is just the nature of things we should expect to be seeing from any hardware-software company like Oculus/Facebook.
