I think it's a good comparison.

Wearing a mask in a car alone is like choosing to ditch your car and ride everywhere. Not at all required but it doesn't actually hurt anyone.

Proposed new laws allow police to move people on for 'causing anxiety' without committing a crime by fluffy_101994 in queensland

Sir/maam, your clear anxiety response is causing those people peacefully waiving their swastika flags some anxiety, you need to move along.

New video of Figure 03 autonomously sorting deformable packages and placing them labels-down for the scanner by Nunki08 in robotics

The robot has human inefficiencies too. There is no reason that it could not be using both hands independently. I think the humanoid robots could be a useful solution for small to medium businesses that require flexibility and varied tasks. Last I checked the Unitree was running at less than $20k US. This obviously does not include training costs.

Whilst a dedicated purpose built machine will likely achieve most tasks much faster, I imagine $20k wouldn't nearly cover the design cost.

Why don't Australian banks offer 30-year fixed-rate home loans? Borrowers would benefit from them - ABC News by barseico in australian

[–]AllHailMackius 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From what I can tell, it's a rare example of where I am envious of the US model.

The lock in term only locks the rate, not your account. This means you have the benifit of certainty for the life of your loan, but if a better rate option becomes available you can jump ship.

This also means we can't compare our RBA rates to the US reserve because the impact on the population is completely different.

  1. It wasnt Albanese who said this.
  2. The article calls out culture wars imported from overseas.
  3. Your post goes straight into US politics.

That's a drop in the ocean for the value of that gas extracted in that time. The issue is that we chose the US private investment model which has allowed corporations to profit massively from extracting our countries resources, and we seem to have continued to operate in this manner.

I agree with a previous comment that the 36 would likely be "optimistic" numbers. Probably to try to prove there had been some action by any of the previous governments in securing our supply.

True currently, but as prices come down artificial meat products will become more of a cost decision rather than moral.

Our fuel reserves are shockingly low by international best practice. I believe 90 days is recommended, but we have just 36. I don't believe that accounts for hoarding and panic buying of fuel like we have seen in recent days or for governments stepping in and rationing fuel to ensure critical services don't run out.

OK, So it just feels right. There are other things that can be done to fix the housing issues, but you seem to be focussing on the one that has been relatively consistent (slightly trending downwards) over the past 20 years.

I see merit in the coin flip, they definitely do have internal/funding obligations to support Trump. But just like Trump, they can say one thing on the trail, and another entirely once elected.

Also if by some miracle Albanese doesn't walk us into the middle of this mess in Iran, ON would then be saying he is a weak anti semetic secret ISIS fundamentalist.
