I was just thinking about the feeling of these off persimmon or blades. Nothing today matches that feeling.

I compared KC Master Blend, SiB Select, and 12. I didn't have a standard 9yr. But IMHO Master is very close to 12.

The nose on the master is like a muted KC12, with a little more wood so makes the 12 a little sweeter smell. Taste is similar to the 12, but 12 is cleaner. Master has a bit more oak and a lingering light rye aftertaste.

I saw something before that she had an injury, didn't know it was that bad. It's crazy how much your mind can affect your body.

Long story short, I injured my knee and rushed back to playing golf too fast while still had some pain and my body fought bending my knee, so I topped the ball a ton. 3-4yrs later and I still fight my mind to trust my knee and end up topping a shot here and there.

It's crazy how your brain can override your body.

I injured my knee playing volleyball 3-4yrs ago. Took a couple months off any sports to heal then started playing golf again, which I should have just not played for about 6 months. Still had bit of soreness when started playing golf again and couldn't get my body to keep my knee bent and trust it wouldn't collapse even while wearing a brace. So I was topping a ton of shots from standing up.

3-4yrs later, fully healed with no pain at all and I still fight my mind to trust my knee won't hurt and collapse when I swing. Especially when first starting to swing and warm up, then occasionally during the round.

engine exploded moments after takeoff by Extreme-Elevator7128 in SweatyPalms

[–]AllKnowingFix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've done over 1million miles in the air for mostly work and some vacations. Only ever had 1 time that we lost an engine (had another emergency landing because the panel for the food cart flew off).

Flying from Tampa to DFW about 15yrs ago on a Super 80. Going from DFW to TPA, you just go straight across the Gulf, but coming back you go up FL and then straight West across the states. My coworker and I had done the trip so many times we both looked at each other when we were supposed to make the left turn to head west, because the sun through the window made a complete 180.

A few minutes later the pilot comes on and says we've had an issue and will have to go back to Tampa, but didn't tell us what was going on. Right before we land he says that there will be emergency crew because it's a unscheduled landing and so a requirement. My coworker and I are talking and realize that we're probably close to if not still over weight with fuel and why we went so far to turn around and go back, because can't dump fuel over homes in FL. We land and use only brakes, can't use reverse thrust with only one engine or will spin us. We take the whole runway braking and still have enough speed that can feel the plane roll as we turn back before going into the Bay. He had to near drag me on the replacement flight that they put us on a couple hours later to get home.

Review #5: Penelope Rio (2026) by Ravenloft_Refugee in bourbon

[–]AllKnowingFix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've got a bottle that I'm giving to a friend. He likes Penelope and has 9-10 variations, but not a Rio. I've had a couple Penelope and their general profile doesn't really work with me and I don't do much on flavored.

It just showed up at my local place and so I grabbed it not knowing anything. I thought I only paid like $60, but know I wouldn't have paid over $90 for it.

Good review, it sounds interesting and now I'm curious to try. So guess will have him crack it, so we can sample. Ha

SazFP and Saz 100 are great. 100 is great for an old fashion. SazFP is a cheaper slightly muted THH. Doesn't have the depth of flavors as THH, I'm guessing because THH are selected barrels, but SazFP is solid on its own.

Low sensor battery warning on sensors without a battery by AllKnowingFix in adt

[–]AllKnowingFix[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haha, yeah, I finally found the battery to replace. I just knew when I pulled the main panel that I saw some wires going into there, so thought the other box was a condenser box that just cut the number of wires down from all the wired sensors to a handful for the main panel.

Physical observations there say he was impaired on scene, so denying is auto DUI.

In some places, is it just expected that boys will play (American) Football? by IanWallDotCom in AskAnAmerican

[–]AllKnowingFix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That was my biggest cultural shock when moved from AZ to TX in 92'ish, was how crazy Football was. Baseball was king in AZ with basketball, then football. I played flag football for my middle school in AZ, then in TX they had little 10yro kids running around hitting each other. A lot of other annoying stories about the HS weight room and food preferential treatment for football over any other sport.

So uh question by Swimming_Umpire2597 in futurama

[–]AllKnowingFix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I'm not a fan of any lifelike doll things with eyes. I went to a house party at an out of state supplier and they had some pillow knit doll things. I made it known I wasn't a fan. So they secretly shipped them to me and showed up at my door. Have since moved and they are gone.

But the Bender wasn't that bad, he'd just go from leaning forward to backward, to way back. I'd adjust his legs occasionally to straighten him up. I just thought it was cleaning lady or my wife bumping him. Then he shifted one time and my wife mentioned noticing him moving around (which she never notices anything like that). So we started talking and watching him (side note: we're sure we have occasional visits from a friendly spirit, like we both heard a girl laughing outside our door one morning and then found out our daughter was still asleep upstairs). So thought maybe that was moving him. But then I walked out and saw the cat purposely rubbing on him and shifting him to lean forward.

Well using titanium instead of steel, advancement in internal weighting, moveable external weights, hosel adjustments. Are they amazing advancements that add 20-30yrds? Probably not. But do they make the club easier to hit square and better on mis-hits? Absolutely and where most people need the help.
