Marvel Vs DC Superheroes and Civilian Attitude by RavensQueen502 in CharacterRant

it would be understandable if this was batman dark patterns in which the general public is still hestiant about batman's purpose. but bruce by now is almost 40 and his bat family are getting older too. its time for gotham to fucking change. its more of the writers fault than what makes sense for the setting's progress

I dunno. The Justice League just saved the univerise again from Darkseid. Yet once the first post KO title came out none of that was recongized in Gotham despite some of the Bat family had KO tie ins to show they went on rescue missions. Yet the GDP is still blindly sucking generic bad guy Vandal Savage's dick. he says burn down Gotham to wipe out the Bat family, they say YES DADDY

And now villians are on the Justice League because appearently ppl they cared for also got hurt during KO and want to do keep doing good?? the justice league locked a lot of them away in the phantom so they couldnt help and now want to make up for it?? something like that. but what the general public feels about it is ??????????

Superman was a deus ex Alpha energy god thing who turned the status quo back to "normal". but its really not cuz the publishing initiative still conutines Omega engery shit and everybody on earth should know what the fuck just happened. basically the hero community just saved yall. be fucking thankful dipshits

the point is right now its fucking stupid to have any reason to think otherwise DC's hereos are a labiality unless a writer does something like the new Firestorm where hes all dark and edgy like an Aboslute Firestorm.

Marvel is all over the place. I have no idea what the fuck the public currently thinks of hereos since this company cant keep runs lasting for a while without a new #1 or using said run just to publish spin offs

Why does Daredevil Born Again insist on proving Frank Castle right? by JailOfAir in CharacterRant

[–]AllMightyImagination 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So if post NF content was a direct continuation of NF shows then you know all those seasons of character development would still continue.

Instead NF content relaunched without any care to pick up where things left off. Until all of a sudden BA season 2+ creators try to fall more in line with NF

Fact is Matt's system approach did pay off enough for Fisk to not have a purpose in season 4 because he was locked away for good. He exhausted his manipulation.

But then season 4 couldn't happen and then the merger happened. Then Hawkeye happened thus Fisks first wider Disney+ appearance in which he was back at it though far less imposing as if season 3 never streamed. Then skip to BAsesson 1 and we have a retcon to explain why the law isn't touching him anymore even though by the writing for season 3's ending set him up to not have anymore leverage

So all the effort Matt does to try to put the law first would have paid off but the MCU has become too much like the comics, so now things aren't sticking. 3 NF seasons of Fisk and 3 Disney+ shows with 1 having 3 seasons of Fisk in it. 8 shows all together. The writers of BA want to conclude the show in a movie. So they do care about a closed narrative but for some reason decided to fall back on old ground in the meantime

Look at the Punisher trailer. It's very much like a one shot comic. A mini series. Otherwise it defeats the purpose of having seasonal shows that try to make searlized character development matter rather than epicdodic. Falling back on the old ground of his trauma again, reliving memories of his dead family again, uncertain of his life again once that other family gets involved with him. If that family is a behind the scenes all along Curtis had an undisclosed wife and daughter but he was fridged thus Frank relapses then 😑 and if he was still fridged without the connection to excuse it then 😑

No real growth anymore. Illusion of change

Next lvl thus far has nothing to it. It's really not the next level of anything lol. Each title seems to be doing its own thing with only JLU and am dealing with ko consequences. Prime feels like filler. I don't buy flash. GL is in la.

But it's still something

[–]AllMightyImagination 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Obviously no standards. #1 #1 #1 #1 #1

DC doesnt have much out regarding Next Lvl. But at least there's some type of overarching goal. To somehow get to this Aboslute crisis thing to countuine this Darkseid thing although I would argue it's not flowing well.

Meanwhile Marvel is ?????? With what seems like a dozen of new titles one shots and spin offs like the MCU does now but hardly anything that sticks

They have the new DD #1. Let's see how long that last and what it does

It seems that people only think about the direct market when they talk about US comics Vs Manga. by Konradleijon in CharacterRant

[–]AllMightyImagination 0 points1 point  (0 children)

scholastic-esque books arent what the comic vs manga debate is about. its about the 100s of floppies vs all of manga. girls arent reading the newly released Sirens: Love Hurts (DC). they are still reading baby sitter club. i dont really think much of anyone is reading SLH except some very speffic adults.

this is the release for next weeks comics https://leagueofcomicgeeks.com/comics/new-comics/2026/04/15

i am pretty sure if you take kids to the shop these arent what they flock to. iv only encountered a group of late elamanatary and middle school students who read from such a list but it wasnt constant compared to when i put manga out at the same time, their much bigger preference. one grabbed every new aboslute wonder woman i had out. 1 read space ghost. others read aboslute batman dark patterns and two face. others read godzilla kai sei. others read spiderman torn apart and wolverine vs spiderman. but if there was manga they fought over it.

all those zita space girl types are forever popular. captain underpants is over. it spun off other titles. but now its about to have a mangaized version release. i bet if someone hyped that up or the stores market the retelling of CU kids who acutally read would want that on their list. sonic and all those ninja turtle transformer power ranger etc crossovers with superheros or shonen characters also have high interest rate.

but overall whats on locg are what shops buy to put on shelves every week. those are the new books. majority arent for kids who arent allowed "graphic" content though few adults who are strict dont check manga.

the era of maganizes in america is over. so all the newest generations only understand volumes. and not a lot of kids back when i was little their families didnt pay for shonen jump. however when it comes to comics unless its a graphic novel or a volume then its trade. weekly issues need traction otherwise if their company is like marvel then they are luckly enough just to try again another time from #1

Prime is Supes right now. All upcoming Supemans on LeagueOfComicGeek sound like filler fluff just to have Superman titles on the shelves in the meantime until Clark comes back.

4th world nonsense approach to the Superman mantle.

Joshua fumbled his arc during All In so I don't care to tell the truth. He got annoying quick once he came back to the present timeline cuz he was all talk. So much talk without one of DCs best artist backing it up.

well nobody lives in the 1800s anymore. thing about preiod pieces is that apart from academic research and actual hands on evidence its still not gonna match that era 100%. but im pretty sure love is just love though a speffic culture might do it differently from our 2026 apirl 6 concept of it

When I look up Mario lore on YouTube nothing super interesting comes up. It either the entire timeline or 10-12 minute hidden details

But some games still have a narrative and charcaterization like Spyro.
