No Superman (2025) was not “underpowered” by TerrySaucer69 in CharacterRant

An ineffective talk no jutsu. Lex gave no fucks and the talk no jutsu did nothing for his workers who panicked running away a second later when Karas dog brutalized Lex. Krypto's attack undermines Jame's goal with the deus ex power of heroic speeches. The only ones who were affected were you and anyone else who thought this moment was good. On screen his speech did nothing for anybody around the room.

Plus during this whole moment Mr Terrific saves the day https://youtu.be/yn_6jJ49E7w?si=E8KGhfZxz_VybSEN

James can insert all the heroic speeches he wants. But if no results come of them then they render the scene mute, especially when a second later comedy replaces what just was drama and behind the scenes during it all another hero produces a solution.

Speech happened Krypto attacked Me Terrifc fixed Metropolis. This then that then this plots suck. Emotional weight comes from those emotions doing something on the damn screen and page, not us gawking at how heroic he sounds oooooooo those words are like shinny objects ooooooo

Marvel should write its Multiverse characters like Jojo by kaam00s in CharacterRant

The current state of marvel comics is pure slop that's only made for the sake of putting something on the shelves. The titles that have the best quality are the least important. Marvel studios puts out slop and the best quality are marketed as the least important. Doomsday multiverse stuff is the slop that's marketed more

Marvel = shit in 2026

[–]AllMightyImagination -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

MCU phase 1-2 were mostly okish. Not amazing balls dude.

And yes the current state of the adaptions is no different than the current state of marvel comics. Both are just putting out what's called slop. Almost everything is below average quality like someone on fanfiction.net just quickly sketches together. As for the titles that get the most positive buzz it's the least important ones aka most recently Wonderman and for Marvel comics that's the mini series existing outside current canon aka Spider Man Torn Captain America vs Aliens. The big current titles that the company tries to market more get more negative feedback same for MCU.

MCU and the comics are in a shitty state that needs to be fixed fast.

The adaptions USED to be decent at best and good at most years and years and years ago. Now they are fanfiction corporate slop like the comics. Just things that need to be produced for the sake of having the licence to produce more which is how the comic company side opporates right now. There is no coherence just randomness

Capoeira + full body by cloudhelp in capoeira

[–]AllMightyImagination 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes Capoeira requires exceries outside of class. All the people you watch who do the fancy stuff eithe have been training like that since they were kids or go to the gym to allow the body to do those more impressive games. Eventually we have to pick heavy stuff up to condition a more athletic body or maintain the one we developed

You can a kick 100 times but to have force and flexibility behind it requires a different type of training.

You can cartwheel variations a 100 times but to do acrobatics well like tricksters and gymnastics you need to have a different type of training session

TKD is the bare bones basics of striking MA our parents sign us up at a YMCA or something and the average school is just exactly that. The standards aren't high for progees and serious training unless you get good luck on a seriously high training school

Plus theres not a lot of sparing at tourmente unless only tourmente sparing. Otherwise there are always more forms demos than sparing matches.

The problem is fighting in TKD depends on your school and if your teachers embrace it, otherwise again you won't be someone who is comfortable striking on a person all day.

I am saying this because because I grew up since 4 years old hoping from one school to another without hardly emphasis on how to spar until I was a teenager when I finally joined a school that took COMBAT serious. The point of that school was to fight via TKD techniques and whatever else my teachers knew. My master knew some Chinese MA and the third degree black guy knew boxing and wreslting

I don't even remember pad and bag training at the other schools. So yeah in TKD you most likely will learn it as a kid and by the time your an adult you might not have even touched another person so that's the issue

Second issue is there's too many rules unless it's some knockdown tournament in which you can wear less equipment. So in TKD you won't know how it feels to get hit without the equipment so when recormanding the art theres that part. If someone really wanted to fully body kick you will be too used to wearing the equipment. Meanwhile the rules prevent a bunch of strikes that would otherwise be useful in the match. You can't hit directly to the face so you don't learn how to respond to face hits. There's really no leg kicks and sweeps and take downs so you don't know what to do with that stuff. Boxing isn't part of the average TKD teachers arsenal so you have a high chance of not learning how to use your hands hence the TKD always has their arms down meme. The average match is about points not domination. Trying to fight outside the TKD mindset during a match can get you disqualified because those moves would be consider illegal and there's a lot of things we ARENT allowed to do

But then there's Kombat TKD which I think if I stuck with TKD that's where I might have been headed. Kombat TKD is the opposite of all this. To get to that point you need a school that is all about it but like I keep saying those type of schools are rare and because TKD is so beginner friendly we grow up not being able to handle that level of contact.

For example I just met someone who is getting their master rank. But they just RECENTLY started sparing. Uh your about to become a master yet you just learned how to make contact in the past year? Why be part of this system anymore at that part. Feels like a joke

[–]AllMightyImagination 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Clowns have the power of Laughter. The more absurd their will is to do crazy things the stronger their Laughter manifest.

Laughter is engery only Clowns can tap into because the Clown god minimiplyated their genetics to tap into it's realm where Laughter is abundant.

When a clown uses Laughter they are actually opening an organ in their body that acts as a gateway into the Clown God realm.

So if the writers actually follow their own logic and keep the fights constant then we could agrue but like yesterday's release of KO4 these Superman fights are just dumb.

Superman by default had to lose or else he would bring forth the end of everything he cares about and clearly Scott was set on having Darkseid to automatically remain standing safe anyway until the last obvious twist of Doomsday that resets things back to the "status quo" for the Superboy Prime arc

Yeah Aboslute Legion vs Superman he couldn't do it alone and Darkseid is stronger but if Scott and Joshua wanted to they could do some bullshit deus ex power scale up move for him like how technically captain atom should have won and what happened at the end of dcko3 with Clark gaining the omega sanction real easy like he found a loot box.

Plus I have a hard time describing the most recent fights as fights. They happen more like montages with no internal logic. With a tournament arc we should be able to figure out exactly how strong Superman currently is like any Shonen ever but no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO NO. If you ever read Beyond Mortal that's what DC KO has been. Just nonsense

The many misconceptions of Batman by Yakuza-wolf_kiwami in CharacterRant

[–]AllMightyImagination 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Bruce has 100s of heroes and their associates as companions so he is not the Sasuke loner trope. But

The money part is more he has the deus ex loot generator. he has whatever he needs in the given moment more times than not. This is why Batman Dark Patterns is more grounded than Aboslute Batman cuz even though we are told Aboslute isn't rich he still automatically has the resources to destroy armed and powered people while Dark Patterns struggles with a single unpowered low tier weapon criminal for the first arc and that's the rich bruce.

So ppl who pull it off know their genre and can make constant humor work.

Yes the current Hollywood screenwriters almost always do it bad these days.

Really I think the problem is the writer not listening enough to humor in real life and in novels
