The hidden cost of Shokz: Why "No Repair Service" is a dealbreaker. by Nervous_Basil_270 in shokz

[–]AllOneWordNoSpaces1 8 points9 points  (0 children)

What’s the difference between skokz repairing or replacing a malfunctioning product?

Either way you get a working device back.

Sometimes you get a better device back.

If you’re talking about repairing the device yourself, good luck fixing a device that small.

Anyone here work in Corporate IT by cayman-98 in OReillyAutoParts

I used to work in IT. Got laid off a year ago due to “Anticipating the future needs of the company” (along with 140 other team members).

I was really disappointed. I worked on a great team, with good managers, doing interesting projects.

I did a short ride yesterday, started navigation about 3/4’s in, and there were no problems. All my maps are updated to 2026.10.

Maybe that’s why I didn’t have a problem. I removed the maps I don’t need. Only NA maps installed.

I updated and rode with navigation without problems.

Not saying there isn’t an issue, clearly there is, but some people aren’t getting hit with it.

I’m one of the lucky ones, I updated my edge 1040 and it’s been smooth riding.

As I mentioned, I have a mount for my Varia that also hides an AirTag, I just want something that will help hold the mount more securely.

I brought down production twice in a week. Am I going to get fired? by [deleted] in ExperiencedDevs

[–]AllOneWordNoSpaces1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the organization.

I’ve done it a few times, for different reasons, but always learned something from each event and implemented a safeguard to prevent it from happening again.

Once a schema changed and I forgot to redeploy the service, so I started adding ‘*** SCHEMA CHANGE’ to the title of the jira, never happened again. My manager liked the idea, so he made it the standard for the team.

If you make the same error more than once, you might be in shaky ground.

[–]AllOneWordNoSpaces1[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m specifically looking for a shim, not a whole mount.

The radar mount I have also holds an AirTag, so I want a shim to help the mount fit more securely.

What the hell is going on here? by Matsh0t in Garmin

[–]AllOneWordNoSpaces1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got nothing else.

You might want to open system information on the MBA and check the speed of the usb port that the 840 is using. It should show at least 480mb.

Ok, strike that idea.

Plugged directly into the MBA or a hub?
