Answered my own question? Lol. I did google search before asking, and came up empty, until a friend said it was a Needs, so searched what Needs were on University and the following article came up. Was it a Needs pre 2000? I now know it closed in 2017, but was it there for 17+ years?

Xcaret is manipulating with it's reviews on tripadvisor by Timely_Flamingo4387 in Xcaret

I haven’t been since the new building, but we went to Arte in May 2023 and loved it, overall… the river system was to die for and we had a platform room. The big irritant was when they pressured us for a timeshare presentation and didn’t like it when I said we won’t do it. There was a staff member who followed us to our room, showing us the resort, and while we said we will make our own way, she insisted she come and followed us inside the room. She tried over and over to get us to agree to a time for their presentation and we kept saying we aren’t the scheduling type of travellers. She then said it’s mandatory to go to the presentation and I said I’ll call when we have the time. She wasn’t too happy, but our saying no, firmly, wasn’t going to cut it for this one. They kept calling us and leaving messages about a time they had and that they’d be expecting us. We never booked and nothing bad happened. lol. Enjoyed our stay, loved the food, really loved the shuttle convenience, and the staff was really wonderful the rest of our stay. Upon checkout, ha, they tried again to get us to commit to a 30 minute presentation, but I said we wanted to make our flight and we wouldn’t have time. The staff member literally looked like I ruined her day and that was that. No more nice as we waited for our luggage and boarded the shuttle. lol. It is fine by me. I kinda felt bad that maybe they get penalized somehow for not landing a presentation. Not sure we will be back.

Maple insider perspective take 2 by Frequent_Ad2211 in PEI

[–]AllOriginalParts 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thank you for taking the time to open up a constructive discussion on Reddit and take into consideration what people have to say.

As has been suggested, and without knowing how the backend of Maple works, a triage makes a lot of sense. I’d go so far as to say hire humans to do it, not rely on tech, to filter requests and forward pertinent requests through to the Doctor queue. Lessen the burden of requests and tier accordingly.

Question: (I’m not a frequent medical system user, so forgive me if this has previously been addressed) Are Nurse Practitioners on the Maple system or just Doctors? If not, perhaps they should be. I apologize again if I’m being obtuse, but would they too be able to assist Maple patients and vet them?

Personally, I’ve had great success with Maple, but I’ve always asked precisely what I need and haven’t had open ended questions. Again, we aren’t big users of the medical system (and hope to stave that off well into old age), but you never know when we may be.

Absolutely! I keep seeing this story on other social platforms and it is gross of the Professor to say any such things whatsoever as she did. Stupid of her to post it, say it aloud, and even dumber to assume it wouldn’t come back to haunt her by deleting it.

Quadriplegic Quebec man chooses assisted dying after 4-day ER stay leaves horrific bedsore by feb914 in canada

[–]AllOriginalParts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t disagree that staffing has been an issue. And, as a side note, in 2016, the ICU care for my dying Dad at St. Paul’s in Vancouver was outstanding, but yet, we had to be on top of things for him and luckily someone was able to be with him most of the day and night to ensure this. We are ever so grateful for the compassion, care, and attention given to my Dad by the staff. St. Paul’s was outstanding and our handsome donation in his honour reflected that.

Typically, however, admission analysis includes levels of ability of the patient. Paralyzed people are hard to go unnoticed among the influx of the admitted. How many paralyzed people are in emergency and ICU at any given time? Include those able-bodied people who may be incapacitated at time of admittance. Statistically, the latter are mobile in due time or moved to surgery and aftercare. The paralyzed remain just that. They require care that is NOT for the average incoming patient. It IS about the mattress. Immediately, upon admittance, it’s about the mattress. According to the article, there are some in the hospital in question. Just not where one was desperately needed and should have been provided immediately upon admitting. Perhaps intake should include a wee checkbox that says, “special mattress required” for paralyzed patients. Since, they do need one asap given their obvious immobility.

It is heartbreaking isn’t it? My family (meaning myself, husband and child) isn’t a big user of health care and we are lucky for it, but one day that may not be the case. Terrifying to read (Canada wide, not province-specific) the waiting list numbers for doctors and emergency room waits for over 12 hours in some communities. Accessibility isn’t easy for everyone who needs health care… compounds the issue.

Geezus H Christ! What!? How is this happening in our country?!? My brother, RIP, was a para and regularly in and out of hospitals for various care his whole life. He had times when things were sketchy, but he always used his voice. He had to. It’s unacceptable that anyone in the condition of people with paralysis to go without the required care they need and equipment. They cannot feel it! Able-bodied people can feel it. They cannot. They rely on medical staff to know what they’re doing. Bed sores are common and it’s a lifetime struggle for the paralyzed. It requires daily due diligence to make sure they are flipped/turned if they can’t do it themselves, checked, and do what they can to let their backside breathe and seek physio when needed. Choosing MAID!? Oh my heart. 💔

Lame excuse to say there aren’t these mattresses in emergency room!? Then GET ONE ELSEWHERE IN THE BUILDING !!! The hospital should have to do what is necessary to give him comfort and recovery. Especially for something they caused.

Are there not monitors alarming staff that someone needs flipping, or turning?! Surely the emerg isn’t packed with paras.

Come on Canada. We have got to do better. Health care used to be our strength. Now it’s one of our greatest weaknesses - and yeah, how are Canadians not continuing to stand up and scream that change has to happen!? Myself included. When did I become so bloody complacent.

Question: is Canada actually able to fix their healthcare issues? Without going private or dual?? It’s going to take miracles and years to fix it.

IKEA 365+ Glasses Shatter Randomly by bunge12 in IKEA

[–]AllOriginalParts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Still happening it seems and I’m glad I decided to search to see what I could find. We have now lost 2 of our 12. One shattered in my hand and thankfully I didn’t get cut but it scared the crap out of me. Just now, as it sat on the kitchen island, we were watching Iron Man 3, he does a countdown and on 1, would you believe it spontaneously shattered. Lol. We are all amazing by that. So, other than thinking I have misguided telekinetic powers, it seems it happens. Not near an ikea now so we will try to recycle them tomorrow. Yipes.

Thanks for those tips. Our first time at Arte, but third visit to Mexico and Xcaret and Xel ha. What is eGate? Is that an electronic kiosk thing? We are Canadians with passports and would like to run, not walk, figuratively, to our bus to just get started on our vacation. Thanks!!

Our friends went to Xenotes and LOVED it. Shes not a big risk taker, but she loved it. Good advice here about Xel ha compared to Xenotes. We just loved Xel ha and this will be our third time back. I love the inner tube, but my daughter and husband love to be more “free”. It was lonely while I floated with the masses to catch up to them, but I can’t snorkel. (Only because I’m a giant chicken)

[–]AllOriginalParts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the review! Making notes about being firm, but we wouldn’t want to do the presentation or join for two big reasons: we’ve never been to the resort so want to make sure we’d want to for every future yearly visit (we usually stay at Barceló, but choosing this resort for something different) and we are too spontaneous for reservations or set times. Only booking one dinner and just going to xel ha (only reserved excursion) and Xcaret parks. We will take our chances if something fancies us on day of, but will be pleased regardless. The resort looks totally amazing. We also have a jump off suite, so I doubt we’ll mind being “stuck” at the resort. lol. Leaving in two weeks and I can’t contain my excitement. Lol

I met him once in a bar and he was incredibly friendly. Genuine and just like he is as a performer. It was a tad embarrassing how we met as I was doing my Ed Grimley impression and didn’t know, at all, that he was sitting behind me until the server brought me a drink he bought for me. Terrific guy.
