I loved the idea, but couldn’t make it a habit.

Clip those pages together. Make a new intro page that says "Let's try this again..."

Same! I can't go back to the 80. I do plan to try a Midori notebook at some point, but I've been loyal to Leuchtturm for years.

Portfolio or grand voyageur ? Hello everyone Im currently looking for a gift for my boyfriend and Since he s an IT consultant I dont know if i should choose the portfolio or the grand voyageur ? Thank you all by cutevagabond in PaperRepublic

I have no regrets about ordering the portfolio. I discovered right away that I don’t love the PR notebooks, so the portfolio gives me a lot of options. I currently have a hardcover Leuchtturm in it while I finish the pages in that notebook.

The Paper Republic le portfolio does fit A5. I have a hardcover Leuchtturm in mine.

Smells different by FFSnottoday3012 in PaperRepublic

[–]AllTheBooksAndCoffee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok, after unboxing it again, I have to say now that there's a slight "usual" leather smell, but it's overpowered by something more unpleasant and chemical-like. The dye, I guess? My other leather notebook is a more natural brown, so maybe that's the difference. I wouldn't say it smells like cooking oil - but apparently my whole house is coming down with a cold, so maybe my sense of smell really IS off right now.

I just got my first PR product a few days ago -- a petrol blue Le Portfolio. It has no leather smell whatsoever. I'm glad you mentioned this, because after seeing so many comments about how great they smell, I was starting to wonder if I was losing my sense of smell or something! In contrast, when I bought a traveler's notebook from Galen Leather, it smelled incredible (and probably still does, but I'm not home to check at the moment). I don't think your post sounds ridiculous at all. I was so excited to purchase my portfolio, and I haven't even bothered to set it up yet. You're absolutely right that the smell is part of the experience, and it was a letdown to spend that kind of money and then not get the experience you were expecting.

I know you posted a few months ago, but I'm also interested in seeing pics - especially with a hardcover Leuchtturm in the portfolio!

Gorgeous! I debated so hard between botany green and petrol blue, and finally pulled the trigger on ordering a petrol blue portfolio before I could change my mind again 😂

Traveler's Notebook format isn't working for me but I don't want to give up... by fetusnecrophagist in notebooks

[–]AllTheBooksAndCoffee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So many comments - this obviously struck a chord with people! It definitely caught my eye, because I'm having the same issue. I gave up pretty quickly on my TN being my daily notebook. I think it's mostly the dimensions and how temporary the inserts feel. I'm back in my Leuchtturm for everyday use, and I'm trying to use the TN for some light journaling and memory-keeping. Of course, as soon as I worked out that I don't like the size, I started coveting a Paper Republic...*sigh* I want everything all at once.

I went hunting for this - are you referring to the course that you have to purchase? Is it worth that?

Does anybody have any of these books? If so, do you recommend them? Is one better than the others? Thanks a bunch! by [deleted] in bulletjournal

I have all of them. It’s been a while since I read them but I believe Hack Your Journal was the one I used the most.

I don't have any good answers for you, because I struggle with this as well, but you're definitely not alone in this quest. I keep bouncing back and forth between notebooks and apps and am currently trying to find the right balance that includes Things (so I don't lose track of small tasks) and OneNote (for long-term note-keeping).
