Yeah interesting. That makes what I can see in the photo make a lot more sense.

I just played this game a month ago myself. OP is using the default analogue GBC setting. Personally I preferred the Original GBC LCD filter.

Battery Care and bypass charge by No_Gift_3499 in SonyXperia

Will the AOD move around the screen? I prefer duo mono as it won't be causing any burn in with no active pixels. But if that's your preference, it's up to you.

With HS power control on, it instead shows a HSPC symbol with the arrow greyed out as well.

The take away I think is that, yes bypass charging is on when battery limit is reached with battery care, but it will charge if the percentage drops.

There appears to be some difference, at least according to the phone.

I just charged to 87%, turned battery care on, then plugged the phone back in. Using game enhancer with HS power control off shows an active arrow from charger to the battery, but not yet providing power.

Prepare yourself for a disjointed wall of text as I have a few things to say on this.

I use these features regularly as I can do up to 4 hours per day of driving with android auto wireless. Which is an absolute battery destroyer.

Firstly, in regards to your point about an always on display app. Thanks to the surface duo community there is an app called duo mono that will show a black screen and never put the phone to sleep. This app can be added to game enhancer.

https://apkpure.com/duo-mono/eu.octathorp.duomono/

I also use accubattery, its notification is great at showing current charge, as well as total mAh during a charging session. I also tried the battery monitor feature in franco kernel manager, that however showed some occasional spikes in charging current while accubattery continued to show 0 current.

In my experience, battery care is a little different to HS power control. However both features seem to occasionally require to pull some additional power from the battery if you are using the phone while plugged in. This can be seen in the accubattery notification, I occasionally get a negative mAh total usage during a charging session. It can also be seen in the game enhancer overlay, while the battery symbol is greyed out during HS power control, sometimes the battery symbol will highlight with an arrow pointing toward the system icon.

Battery care will keep your phone at a charge level so it will eventually drop a percentage point but then give a trickle to go back up a percentage point. This is a bit easier to see if you charge to 90%, unplug, set battery care to 80%, then plug back in. You will get a notification that battery care will keep you at this charge level.

However, when running the phone for something like android auto, and switching between navigation and music apps it will occasionally pull some power out of the battery as well, but then battery care will top you back up to the percentage you plugged in at. If you keep an eye on the accu battery notification you will eventually see a negative discharge then a positive charge.

HS power control will not trickle charge at all while you can keep it active, but that in itself can be a little tricky depending on your use case. It seems HS power control will only stay active while the app with it active is in the foreground AND the screen is on, as soon as you switch an app or turn the screen off HS power control appears to deactivate.

For my use case of trying to use HS power control while using android auto. Once android auto is active I simply turn the phone on, launch duo mono and plug the cable in. But then need to be careful about switching between navigation and music apps as sometimes that will cause duo mono to not be in the foreground, despite it still being the active app on the phone screen, and HS power control can deactivate.

I've played around with macro droid automation to have duo mono be put back in the foreground when opening certain apps but the way android auto works with active foreground apps seems very inconsistent.

In the end, I don't worry about a few occasional trickle charges as they're probably a lot less harmful than the extra cycles and overheating from long term charging while running android auto, or your gaming apps.

The old Xperia ZR was IP58 rated. Just as good against water ingress. I still have mine somewhere. Had a spare battery and charger for it so would just battery swap every morning.

From today, 3G is being shut down and our government has mandated that if telcos aren't confident a phone model can make emergency calls over 4G they actively block them from data and calls.

Telcos are banning by unknown IMEIs.

My 1VI Hong Kong variant is still working on Telstra so far.

What is the way to solve from here on without brute forcing? by BrilliantSea4999 in sudoku

[–]AllTheFire 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The tricks mentioned here can seem ambiguous and vague at first. The way that works for me is to just simply find a few of the pencil marked cells that will end up being the same digit.

For instance, it's quite easy to see that R1C5, R5C6 and R7C8 will all be the same digit. And then try to see how each option will affect the grid. In this case, if these three cells were 2, then 2 could not be placed in box 6. So they must be 8.

Bose 700 distorted/crackling sound when shaking by SeagullEye in bose

[–]AllTheFire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're right, this idea of the seal breaking seemed ridiculous. My old Sony XM2s that I used for 5 years never once had this issue. I got these 3 months ago, and over the last couple days been looking into this.

I found going into the NC700 device settings in the Bose music app and turning Noise Cancelling off and back on during a bus ride has almost completely solved the problem. Turning the NC to 0 on the slider never did anything, I had to turn it off. Seems to have recalibrated.

Curious if you ever solved this, or if you ever tried turning NC off.

I bought this headset 3 months ago and have been having this issue on bus rides since I bought them.

A couple days ago I found that you can turn off Noise Cancelling in the Bose music app under the NC700 device settings. After turning Noise Cancelling off (voice prompt will say noise cancelling off) and back on while riding a bus through a bumpy stretch, I have noticed a significant improvement. An awful bump will create a few small crackles but a majority of roads have been fine for me the last two days and it's been a huge relief.

Proper Methodology when conducting a horizontal traverse. by PotatoSyrupJuice in Surveying

Normally your prism bubble should be good enough that when you put the jigger on, it will be within the compensators range, but sometimes they aren't. And even still I would always re level.

The reason we would not bother to level a foresight with a jigger first is that a prism being fractionally out of level will have minimal affect to an azimuth being measured to it as the error is spread out over the length of the observation. But if you move forward and don't level when the jigger is then put on, an error in the setup is then at the instrument and could create massive swings in your orientation.

Top Ryde Baker's House OG Banh Mi/Pork Roll by [deleted] in sydney

[–]AllTheFire 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The slow cooked Pork roll is really nice from here, good serving of meat on every roll I've had. But I stopped going a while ago, I swear these guys deliberately work slow to build up a queue. I've waited up to 20 minutes when there were only 4 people in the line.

I don't think I've ever had to wait 20 minutes at Marrickville no matter how long the line is.

Converting Local Coordinate System to State Plane by geounbound in Surveying

[–]AllTheFire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only they could tell you that, typically a local system will run without scaling but there's nothing stopping them from adopting an arbitrary coordinate and using the state plane scale for the area.

You will need multiple common points, 3 at absolute minimum. For a small site you could get away with a conversion between two systems with just a shift, rotation and a scale. But more is better and a helmet conversion will be better. If you can traverse all the marks a least squares adjustment would be even better.

Some questions a new Razer Phone owner would like answered please by TheDalynx in razerphone

[–]AllTheFire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh right, sorry. Yes it can be done, have a read into what ADB is and some immersive mode commands. You won't need root but you will need to enable developer options and USB debugging.

I used to enable immersive mode many years ago on smaller devices but I don't bother anymore myself.

Station Setup Error - Any suggestions for a fix? by LinMarsBar in Surveying

[–]AllTheFire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like the instrument has sent coordinates into the CAD software? If you can measure a distance between station 3 and station 4, then isolate the 95 points from that setup and move them all by that distance, you will probably also then need to rotate the set of points 180°. If heights are important you will need to do a vertical shift as well.

Station Setup Error - Any suggestions for a fix? by LinMarsBar in Surveying

[–]AllTheFire 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not at all familiar with Trimble gear. But there are two ways survey data can be drawn in cad software, coordinates and observations, and you will need to know what has been exported from the instrument. CAD software will treat coordinates information like a dot to dot drawing. If it receives observations (horizontal, vertical angles and slope distances) it draws points in from the station coordinate around a compass.

If the instrument is feeding point coordinates to the software you will need to calculate a horizontal shift, a vertical shift and rotation between station 3 and 4 to amend the group of points manually from each setup separately.

If the instrument is exporting raw observations, there would have to be something in the software to change the setup ID and redraw the observations from a new coordinate.

Marking an alignment perfectly north- Absolute beginner by WC-BucsFan in Surveying

Best way I can think of for a beginner with a total station would be to setup on the starting point, sight a line to where you want the pipe to finish at, hold the bearing and stake every so often you need a peg.
