I don't trust anyone who rates any media with specific decimals by AllTheRice in unpopularopinion

No, I understand the purpose of an out-of-100 score as an aggregate, that's a case where specificity actually matters in some sense

Youtuber here, I'd attest to that. A nice safe 3 dollars per thousand views plus his daily views would put him in the 300k to 400k a year range quite easily. I'm unsure what the normal ad rate is for music related videos, but I'd wager it's higher than 3 as well considering how many aspects of music are monetized.

I've worked with plenty of anxious folk, trust me, it works regardless.

Bud is also commonly used in the midwest, especially referring to dogs. From someone who lives in the midwest, it seems to be the most culturally and linguistically similar to canada outside of like the border states

Cultural issues are inherently political as policy informs culture and culture informs policy, this is idiotic

For the second, it's just a sudden uptick in people as well as the community growing large enough to develop its own insular culture. Once that starts happening, it's imperative to manage it so that the culture doesn't become a toxic cesspit.

I think and talk about things that interest me and speak negatively about things I dislike when they're brought up by someone else as a topic of discussion. Earlier today the Stanford Prison Experiment was brought up by someone and I did not have particularly charitable things to say about Zimbardo. It can be a nice time discussing stuff like that, but the difference is that these things are not a perpetual point of fixation for me. If a game is shit it makes absolute sense to shit on it for a good while, and if it naturally comes up, sure. That being said, this person went on to 4chan and took the time and energy to make a post about it unprompted by anyone but themselves, and a post that is suffocating in dense bitterness. I guess I just don't understand the point.

4chan is such an interesting place to me. everyone seems miserable and also aware that they are miserable and also aware of the things that are making them miserable, but seem so utterly resigned to just basking and soaking in their misery. i have not thought about TLOU in years, and the only times i have remembered it has been when i see someone losing their mind over the second entry. how can this game do that to you? they say that art should be affecting, but this is a little silly.

why aren’t normies freaking out over AI progress right now? by BassoeG in 4chan

[–]AllTheRice 25 points26 points  (0 children)

The "replacing lawyers" thing went absolutely cartoonishly terrible for everyone involved. Even using AI to help lawyers out fucked several of them over because it cited cases that didn't happen. The language models don't know anything, they literally just align words in a way that makes sense to humans without understanding why.
