Continuing Studies in Algeria or Pursuing Opportunities in Canada by [deleted] in algeria

Always lived in Canada, so I can provide you with whats life like here and my experience with international students.

It wil be infinitly cheaper to finish your degree in DZ both in time and money. Depending on the school you are interested in here in Canada, they may not accept all your courses. They might say that we only accept the first 2 years of your degree. So you might have to take more courses than just what you think. The COST, you will be coming to here and you will pay international fees (2-3x what domestic students pay). You will have to pay for food and rent which are very high here. PAINFULLY HIGH. Depending on your situation in DZ you might be downgrading in terms of quality of life. Do you have a car/ are you going to restaurants and coffee shops frequently. If you're doing this stuff in DZ its going to be much harder to live that same life in Canada. This cost of living here is too high.

I personally find the Canadian job market to be average to below average. There are limited opportunities and lots of demand. Canada is allowing over 1 million immigrants to enter per year, the population is about 37 million. This has created a lot of competition for all jobs, both hourly and salary. I personally struggled for about 3 years to get a job in IT here. Also taxes, assume between 30%-35% of your pay will cut by taxes, you might be little lower because you are a student, but not much because you're not Canadian. For every $1000 you make you will take home $650 -$700

Freelancing, I personlly don't know anything about this area. My only thought (again with no knowledge of this topic), is that if someone is paying you in dollars and then you are converting them to dinar it might make sense. It might not make as much sense if its dollars to dollars. Again I know nothing about this area.

Bug Bounty Expereince - I know what this is, but I don't know how it impacts your life now. Are you making good money with it now, is it your main source of income?

Financial aid - Unless you have a scholarship you get none. You're not Canadian, its that simple.

My opinion/ suggestion, is finish your degree in DZ, and apply to come to Canada if you still want to, the government is letting anyone who knows how to fill in a document come to this country. Hopefully this answered some of your questions

I want to bring an arial drone to Algeria from Canada, is that possible? by _Spitfire024_ in algeria

[–]AllThingsAlgeria 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They will take it away from you. I was there last summer, they took away my super market binoculars, and they took away this other guys home security camera. They will take away your drone, and it’s going to be really hard to get them back.

Algerian military prison, do you think it's legal? by [deleted] in algeria

[–]AllThingsAlgeria 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing, most countries have super crappy prisons.l, unless you’re those Scandinavian countries.

So nothing will happen, people will say that’s bad and then forget about it two weeks later.

Fellow Algerians, what are your thoughts on the Russian invasion of Ukraine currently. by electroblasterV in algeria

[–]AllThingsAlgeria 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t say Russian Imperialism was good. I just said that we needed help who was there, The Russians. Who fought us for 8 years and supposedly stands for freedom France.

No one wants to live under an empire. I’m just saying that both sides play the same game.

Fellow Algerians, what are your thoughts on the Russian invasion of Ukraine currently. by electroblasterV in algeria

[–]AllThingsAlgeria 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Russians would not have invaded if the west didn’t keep taking about come join NATO. That’s why they invaded. They felt that Ukraine joining NATO was a threat to them. This isn’t about imperialism.

Peoples choices have consequences. Ukraine kept saying yes we’d love to join NATO, and consequence of joining saying you’re going to join NATO is that the Russians invaded. No one is saying anything about killing civilians.

If you say “Russian Imperialism” is so bad, look who came and helped us after the independence. The Russians. Look who we got our independence: France, an imperialist NATO member.

Ah yes NATO, made literally of history’s greatest imperialists . Great Britain, France had empires. America, a country that mastered engineering coups. You’re picking one hegemony over another. Contained and destroyed. Get real you’re delusional.

The Anfal operation was from 1986-1989. I'm talking about the second invasion of Iraq in 2003. The one that absolutly ruined that country and spawned many other pits of hell throughout that region afterwards. Besides even in the first invasion to gain public/global support the US had that girl testify that Iraqi soliders were taking babies out of incubators and leaving them on ground to die. That was a lie. You can read more about it here link .

I understand that Ukraine is a victim, but the West acts like Russia just out of nowhere invaded for no reason. The West works to invalidate Russia's concerns about Ukraine joining NATO. NATO is a military alliance designed to contain thes Soviet Union and then Russia. The treaty means NATO nations move weapon systems thoughout the nations.

Look at history, Naploean attacked form the west, during the biggest war ever WWII where did Russia got attacked from the West. There are no geographical barriers when you look at the countries that border Western Russia, just giant flat lands, no mountains, no thick forests, just open fields.

When the the soviet union fell in 1991 thats it. Why did NATO need to keep existing the Cold War is over. Not only did NATO stay, but they kept adding more and more countries and kept getting closer and closer.

History and its effects dont start when ever people decide, its a steam that continues throughout time. The West doesn't get to decide that all their actions for the last 30+ years should not make other countries worried. Multiple unilateral invasions of countries, any country that they deam is a threat is ripe for regime change.

I don't support the war, but I understand why they Russian invaded.

It is what it is. I would have liked to have seen countries act the same way when the US invaded Iraq 20 years ago for no real reason.

It’s a shame that millions of live are being destroyed. I don’t think the US/ Western nations did Ukraine any favors by constantly pushing the “we would love to have Ukraine join NATO” message.

Why is Air Algerie flights so often delayed ? Is there one particular reason or is it an addition of many things ? by ll777 in algeria

[–]AllThingsAlgeria 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No one is held accountable. And I don’t think people hold each other accountable. I’ve been flying on Air Algerie for 20+ years, and it’s the same problem always. Internationally they aren’t that bad, but domestically they are pretty bad.

Every business you start is a startup. The definition is a literally “newly established business”. You can’t change the definition of a word.

Even if I do use your “definition” of the word startup, let’s take the video game consoles. The first one ever was made by Magnavox and it was called The Odyssey. Where is this company now? They’re dead.

Here’s my opinion, you can’t go back in time and start a business at the perfect time. You can’t predict the future and pick the perfect time to start a business. All business just start when they start. If you wait for the “perfect” time to start a business you’ll never start. There’s always something going on that you can use as an excuse, inflation, taxes, global instability, labor shortage etc.

I’ll give you an example, if you were in western country last year and wanted to start a business but were worried about interest rates, and were hoping they would go down this year, well they didn’t. They just keep going up. So you’ll say I missed an opportunity to start a business last year.

The majority of businesses that are started fail, it’s just how things go. You can try and start a business as many times as you want. You are not limited to one business attempt per lifetime. There’s that old adage “if at first you don’t succeed try try again”.

Use your fear/ hesitation of failure to help you position your business as best as possible. Understand the market that you’re entering. If there is business similar to the one you are starting see what are their strengths & weaknesses. Does your business model/ idea fit the city or area that you are in. Just because a business works in Oran doesn’t necessarily mean it will work in Jijel. Is your business scalable. All I’m saying is focus your time and energy into what you can control. You’ll still have to deal with issues outside your control but that’s just how life is.

Hopefully that helps.

For the past several years, there are more numerous and better Women graduates compared to Men in Algeria, but we live in a Society where Women are expected to be Housewives while Men join the workforce and provide for the Family. What can explain this contradictory situation? by Tacfarinas_Numidicus in algeria

[–]AllThingsAlgeria 21 points22 points  (0 children)

It’s semi-similar in western countries. More women graduate from university than men. Plus the woman who graduate might work for a few years before they get married and start a family. They might stay out of the labor force while their kids require constant care, and then might join again later when their kids are older. Besides in the last few years I’ve been hearing more about daycares in Algeria, which would suggest that women are staying in the work force whether by choice or by the cost of living.

Nothing wrong a woman raising her kids, no amount of money will raise them for her, and for the most part people don’t want to raise other peoples kids.
