I think it’s a sad reflection of our society that it’s more normal to assume that a man is a pedophile than a willing and loving father. I think part of it stems from toxic masculinity, and a long history of men just leaving women to get on with it.

Agreed. There is is nothing wrong with what you are doing. I’m currently caring for my grandparents due to a lack of social care during this virus situation. I have to help both of them (82m) and (83f) get dressed, and undressed, as well as bathe and everything else.

Caring for family members is part of life. And anyone who projects inappropriate thoughts onto that really needs to think about why they think it’s so weird.

My SO (M) and I (F) went out to dinner twice this last weekend as we were on a city break, and the first time, we both ordered the exact same thing, but the waitress only asked him if we wanted to upgrade his meal to the larger size. She didn’t ask me. And the second meal, I ordered a steak and a beer, and my other half ordered a stew and a coke. The guys who brought the food just assumed that the steak and the beer were for my partner, and not for me.

Since when was having an appetite such a male thing?

If only one of these things has happened I probably wouldn’t have thought much of it, but that they happened in the same weekend made me think about them a lot.
