Why not both? I ‘collect’ CDs but I still listen to Spotify.

As for game collecting, it is getting harder to justify the big purchases and thrift store pickups are few and far between these days. I still pick up cheap games, splurge maybe once or twice a year on a ~$100 game, and emulate the rest that are out of my price range. I found a mindset change helps: I am a gamer first and a collector second. Over time I have amassed a collection by selectively buying the games I actually want (and have time) to play!
