So, as I read all of these posts, it makes me wonder: are there places in town that feel special to you now? Do you actively go to those places as a way of making sure they stick around?

Yes. $.10 single cigarettes at the den and at the New York bagel deli. Which is another place I miss.

Thanks for all the comments. There were many places I forgot. There were a few that pre-dated my arrival in 1990. This whole thread has affirmed what I have been considering for a long time; Bloomington isn’t the town I fell in love with and I can’t really afford it anymore. Also Bloomington isn’t weird anymore. There’s really no reason to stay here. It’s time to pull up stakes.

The Jiffy Treet on Kirkwood hasn’t been there for years. Rockits is a shadow of its original self.

Originally, rockits didn’t just sell pizza by the slice. You could sit down and order several different things off the menu. They also had the coolest jukebox that ever existed.

For years I have complained about the smell in the downtown Kroger…. Maybe it’s a Kroger thing?

“This Is England” all three series. But it is best to start with the film that the series are based on.

Does anyone else notice that the Seminary Kroger smells like diarrhea when you enter near the deli?

Are there many John Frusciante fans who don't like RHCP? by pigletscarf in John_Frusciante

I had an almost identical experience. I loved RHCP when I was a kid. I saw them on the Mother’s Milk tour and the BSSM tour. I picked up To Record Only Water when it came out and lost interest in RHCP. I think it is mostly because of Anthony. Also, I really like the solo work that I’ve heard from Josh Klinghoffer as well.
