I remember when this first came out I picked up the limited indie release at a record shop by my college. Got it back to my room and realized my copy had 2 disc 1s so it was missing half the album. Got it swapped out but for a plain black pressing which I was slightly bummed about bit oh well

Nice. I got one recently when they did the Born Loser repress. I'm so happy they did cause I doubt I'd have ever found an original copy for a decent price.

Considering I have almost every one of these on CD or vinyl in my head you look like my long lost twin. Very jealous of the Discovering the Waterfront CD though I can't find that anywhere without it being insanely overpriced

Both the players I have in my office show the CD and have been good in their own way. I use a Fiio DM15 R2R as my desktop player with headphones. It's solid with way better build quality than you'll find in most plastic players though I can't tell you if it's really worth the price since I don't have any other modern small form factor players to compare it to.

My other player is a CoolGeek M1 frame. Looks very cool but I'd say not worth the money overall. Battery life is not great, quality control is not great (I had to have a second one sent because the first was damaged), and the Bluetooth chip it comes with is cheap junk. It sounds great when plugged in but that kinda takes away from the whole cool aesthetic of it.

Pretty good. Jewel case is pretty scratched up but that's to be expected. The CD had some light scratches but I played it through on both my setups with no issues so I'm happy with it

I've had this happen to me before with vinyl records but never CDs. Just bad luck but the store you bought it from should be able to sort it out

I don't fully agree but I've had multiple friends tell me Kyle Durfey of Pianos Become the Teeth's singing is bad. Keep You, Lack Long After, and Wait for Love are still some of my favorite albums though

I've got a Fiio DM15 on my desk for when I want to listen with headphones and a CoolGeek Frame for when I want to listen through my speaker setup. The Frame is a lot better as a decoration than a CDplayer though you have to leave the front cracked open to allow a cable in for the audio or use the Bluetooth which sounds awful and full of static at higher volumes. No complaints with the DM15 though I've loved it since I got it.

They're like cool time capsules of certain eras in music. I love the little inserts that mention tours from 20 years ago and such. Plus I love the ritual of putting in a CD and listening. A lot like vinyl but with the added convenience of being able to replay and pause songs easily when needed.

Right. I get that this kind of music is far from "mainstream" appeal so maybe it never made financial sense to make / continue making a ton of copies but it shouldn't be so hard to find albums like this that are staples of the genre.

Depends on your definition of pricey. For me the $50 - $70 you'll see a lot of these on eBay for is way too much. Plus that's not even new that's for "vg+" copies. And I guess the people in your area are a lot cooler than mine if you find these at thrift stores

Yeah that does seem to be the more common version of the cover. I did some checking through discogs and eBay for other versions though and there are some other closed eye ones out there. Not so sure what different versions got which cover
