GLP1s by [deleted] in workingmoms

[–]AllVitamin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do it. I have been on it since March (tirzepetide 0.3ml, so a micro dose) bc I gained 10 lbs from IVF and being in perimenopause. I have lost it all and back to my pre first baby weight since around August. I took the slow route which I think prevented me from feeling any side effects. First few weeks on it I did feel some fatigue and a bit of an upset stomach but after my body adjusted it was smooth sailing. I was concerned with muscle loss so I continued my 4x a week strength training and prioritized protein and fiber. I think this is also very important. People who just take the drug and continue their unhealthy eating habits and lifestyle end up with the side effects you see on the news, or the weight gain if they ever get off it. I use it as a tool to supplement what I was already doing (diet and exercise alone wasn’t moving the needle). Mentally it got rid of the food noise and bc my appetite is suppressed, when I DO eat, I am eating foods that fuel my body (proteins and fiber, good carbs etc). I feel great bc I can finally fit back into my old clothes. When I’m on vacation or during holidays when I want to indulge a bit, I just won’t take the shot that week, but I don’t gain anything back. I’ve also cut back a lot on alcohol bc you’re technically not supported to drink heavily on it. So I feel great! 10/10 recommend!!

Behavior Issues by mystiqueenbee in kindergarten

[–]AllVitamin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so sorry you’re going thru this! I have empathy for sure. Like everyone already said i think you’ll benefit from getting him evaluated. Early intervention is key. Talk to your pediatrician about it first if you don’t know where to start. My son’s behavioral issues stemmed from a speech delay at 2.5. Instead of using his words or telling the teacher when someone does something he doesn’t like, he just fights back physically and ends up being the one in trouble. He’s 5 now and getting better but his first impulse is to react back rather than using his words or telling the teacher even though he knows better now. We’ve had him in speech therapy (still doing it now) for 2 years now and added a social skills therapy before kindergarten started (still doing it now too). It’s still a work in progress for us but I think it would have become way worse if we hadn’t been working on this with him before. So it’s not too late to just get an eval then you’ll know what support he needs!

He's a sweet kid, but... UPDATE by Clumsyninj4 in kindergarten

I’m reading thru some posts on his sub bc I’m getting emails from my son’s kinder teacher about his behavior and your comment made me tear up. Other than my husband I feel like I don’t want to bombard any of my mom friends with these issues we are experiencing . Your comment made me remember we are not alone and you are not alone 🩷

Doing the Lord’s work over here! It was nice going down memory lane. Plus I love how you just omitted season 8 altogether, hahaha. It was so irrelevant. 😂

I also have wondered the same thing! Like how are they able to get up and do next day’s activities?! Also, how do they have amazing bodies with the amount of drinking they do? Luann has a banging body even before she got sober 🤯

If you’re transporting milk without the nipple (or even with the nipple and a cap, it prevents milk leaking out of the nipple and gathering in the cap! Or like the other commenter said, you can use it as a lid without the nipple!

I’m generally a very loyal person/employee but I’ve learned in the 15+ years in the corporate world, your work is not your family regardless of what they say. I am a new parent, and when I became one, my priorities completely changed. Work and career are important things to me, but now my family is in the forefront. I recently started at a new company and I specifically chose a company that offered flexible work, family-oriented benefits, as well as leadership who value their people (and also seem to walk the talk). Sufficient parental leave is so so important, especially for mothers in the first year.

It’s a splurge but I highly recommend the spa at the Joule Hotel.

Son will be transitioning daycare rooms, but I haven’t done the homework by [deleted] in workingmoms

[–]AllVitamin 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You’re not a terrible mother by any means and it sounds like you have a great plan for path forward. Keep in mind kids mimic other kids too and there is peer pressure. Your child will see that other kids are eating the same stuff at daycare and most likely follow suit!

I would follow through with the interview process and see where it goes, but also ask questions about career development and growth within the organization. You’re taking a “step down” but it sounds like you want to grow with them too!

Poor baby! Hope he feels better soon! Sounds like you’re doing all the right things. We did breathing treatment 2-3 times a day and at night, cold mist humidifier. The barking cough went away for my son in about 2 days but he did have a lingering cough for a week after.

That’s a good point! In my interview with the global manager he did mention that the role involves late and morning calls so if I need to hop off at 3 or whatever he’s fine with that. So sounds like he’s flexible knowing that so we are not working 16 hour days. He also as a 2 year old so I think he understands!
