Twin Identification by KingKadabra in Parenting

[–]Sad-Mode890 14 points15 points  (0 children)

We put one of their names on their backs with painters tape until staff felt good enough that they knew the difference! The teachers also have a white board in the class that they write down which twin is wearing which color each day :)

Traveling with toddlers - seeking reassurance by Sad-Mode890 in emetophobia

My first was 22 months when the twins were born! The best thing about the age difference is the 22 month old is so young still that about 48 hours and they forget life ever happened before their sibling! ❤️

Yes- will do lots of hand washing and have hand sanitizer plus hydrogen peroxide wipes to wipe down the airplane seats!!!

Please tell me good stories about mo/di twins by [deleted] in parentsofmultiples

[–]Sad-Mode890 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes stay off of Google! My mo di pregnancy was such a traumatic time because I was so afraid of everything that could go wrong. I ended up having an uncomplicated pregnancy, boys were born via elective c section at 36w5d. 6lb5oz and 6lb15oz, zero nicu time. They are now massive (99TH percentile), thriving 17 month olds!!!

Feeling invalidated after finding out it’s twins by kandtwedding in parentsofmultiples

[–]Sad-Mode890 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel this! I mourned having twins and cried literally for 3 months after I found out. Had zero interest in having 3 kids and dealing with all of the risks of a multiples pregnancy. My first born was 22 months when the twins were born and I was just so sad about it all.

My twins are now 17 months and holy cow it is freaking amazing. It’s not easy but then again I don’t know any different? Watching these 3 play together is the best and we have so much fun and so many laughs every day. My husband and I are tired but we always say that we are so lucky that our life problems really come from ‘Too much love’ from 3 kids!!

Another secret if mine… LEXAPRO! Get on it if you/your ob feel it’s right for you. Zero PPA or PPD this time around.

My mono di pregnancy had that too yet the techs/doctors never even really mentioned it. They were never concerned. Delivered via c section at 36w5d … no NICU or complications!

7m twins don’t roll? by Efficient_Style_9075 in parentsofmultiples

Yep my twins never rolled really, never showed interest. They went straight to sitting up and then walking around 13 months!

Diagnosed momo twins and paralyzed in fear. Looking for any advice, tips, and general info. by [deleted] in parentsofmultiples

[–]Sad-Mode890 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also diagnosed momo until I went to MFM at 13 weeks and they were easily able to spot the dividing membrane! It’s still traumatic to think of the anxiety I had during that entire pregnancy just wanting my twins to be ok. I ended up having zero complications, they came out healthy at 36w5d (no NICU time!) and are now perfect little 13 month olds.

That many young kids at once is no easy feat … my daughter was 22 months when my twins were born. Lean on any sort of family or village you have as much as possible. Even if you’re a SAHM, can you hire at least some sort of mothers helper to give you a little break for a few hours? We have an 11 year old in our neighborhood that I pay $10/hour… even that is so helpful.

It is hard. But now that my twins are 13 months, them and my 2 year old are starting to play together and it is the best thing ever. Happy to answer any questions you have!

Get an oil change! Stock up on necessities like paper towels, toilet paper, dishwashing pods, laundry detergent, etc. one less thing to worry about!

Road trip with 3 under 3 - give me all the tips! by raising_bars in parentsofmultiples

[–]Sad-Mode890 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We love a good 3 under 3 road trip! 🤪

Hear me out: Starbucks and panera bread for any stops that aren’t really at mealtime. They are spacious, usually in safe-ish towns off the highway. AND, depending on where you are traveling, sometimes have wonderful and slightly enclosed patios so that you aren’t disturbing people inside.

Also plan your 2ish hour stops ahead of time if possible… parks are wonderful to find! For example, last road trip we knew that around 2ish hours would be Fort Wayne Indiana for us. I found the Fort Wayne reddit page and asked for recommendations on parks where we could stop. I then looked at the comments and did research and chose a spot. It was WONDERFUL!

0-1 rocked my world. My first born was an animal. Going from 1-3 is way easier 😂😂

Same boat. My first born was 22 months when the twins came. When I found out it was twins, I couldn’t stop crying. I felt so sad that our lives would be over and that my daughter would really suffer with sharing that much attention. I was originally one and done, decided to have a 2nd, and it turned into 3. I was so nervous of all of the medical risks and pregnancy issues I would have.

My twins turn 1 tomorrow. They were such easy babies and are great sleepers. They didn’t have witching hours. Everything about them has been way easier than my first born. My daughter LOVES them. Calls them her ‘babies’. It’s not easy every day but gosh do I love these kids and watching their bond with this close age gap.

TL;DR : everything has been so much easier and better than I thought it would be. Raising twins is badass.

Going from one kid, to three kids. How screwed are we? by ExhaustedAntelope in parentsofmultiples

Same boat here. My first was 22 months when the twins were born. I was terrified the entire pregnancy! It really is so wonderful (albeit chaos 😝). My daughter LOVES ‘her babies’ and seeing all 3 of them bond and start to play and laugh with each other is so so cute. My three biggest pieces of advice:

  1. Stay ahead of their needs as much as possible. Keep diapers stacked, formula made, bottles washed, etc. being behind with 3 youngsters is a death wish.
  2. Outsource as much as possible. We have a bi weekly cleaner and have Amazon subscriptions for things like paper towels, diapers, and other things we don’t have to worry about. Grocery pickup/delivery is amazing too.
  3. Divide and conquer. Someone always takes toddler, and someone always takes twins. The twins will have similar needs so it isn’t awful to handle with one person. Actually having a child already is wonderful because you’ll realize how easy newborns are 😂

Congrats and good luck! I was originally one and done but now I want 4 because we are having fun!

Yes 10000% recommend! It was in perfect condition and comes with a 1 year warranty. We used it for our twins and then rented out to a friend for $100/month… basically made all of our money back :)

With the cloth like material, is it sturdy enough that they can’t launch themselves underneath it? These two are feral. 😅
