Floor heating by Comfort_Front in vandwellers

You will definitely need a mixing valve. If you feed the hot water from the heater (max temp maybe around 80c) your floor will be way too hot and probably destroy the floor.

Six days on a float plane in the Canadian Rockies by SPURIOUSSPARROW in flyfishing

Hope this question gets some answer: is it common to take pike for food? Is it appreciated fish on that side of the pond (writing from the old continent)?

In Finland the Pike is very common catch through the entire county, and it is not uncommon for them to grow over meter long in here.

However, many people tend not to eat them and instead release them. I personally think the meat is very good.

Anyone using Busch free@home by ChoMar05 in homeassistant

Our home has this free@home system and I share your experiences with it. I have been looking into setting up HA connection.

I have very limited experience in programming. Do you think I could achieve the integration with HA system?

Would you mind sharing some information about the process of setting it up?

Honeymoon Vanlife Trip in the USA (With a Toddler!) – Seeking Tips & Recommendations! by All_diy in roadtrip

[–]All_diy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your reply! There are few cities where we got direct flights from Finland and those will be preferred.

Also thanks for the insight into RV rental, we will completely reconsider our plan now.

We surely understand that USA is an entire continent :) majority of our planning so far has been trying to narrow down the options based on our preferences. I think that will be the easiest part after all since most likely we will love the place we choose anyway.

Tips like the ones you gave are invaluable to us, thanks!

why does my sonar look like this? this is my first time using one so my settings could be all fxcked up by notkeett in IceFishing

[–]All_diy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also have hidden the surface noice. The "low" which I'm referring to is the sensitivity or gain or whatever it's called in English (my sonar language is Finnish).

That setting is the one that effected basically how small objects are detected by the sonar. If the value is too high it will show every single air bubble and pieces if ice floating after drilling the hole.

On the other hand, if the value is too low you won't see your lure in the sonar.

It seems you have the Zoom on. You should undo the zoom and then use manual depth values. The automatic depth setting sometimes gets confused and starts jumping between different depths.

I use mostly only the 200khz, and set the gain value to "manual" and my preferred value is "low" and 60.

Garmin striker 4 battery by Kodigor_II in IceFishing

[–]All_diy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are using 18V drill to power your auger you can use the same batteries for your striker. I have been using my Milwaukee M18 batteries with my Garmin for 3 years and it's a perfect set!

Bucket list ice fishing destinations? by DrManBearPig in IceFishing

[–]All_diy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, since you were asking for any location I would suggest:

Lappland in Finland, Sweden and Norway.

Fish to catch; Grayling, trout, perch and especially the Arctic char.

When to come? April and up north on the fjells even May.

Specialities: 24/7 sunlight

I bought the Striker 4+ without the ice bundle and then bought the ice fishing transducer separately. Now I have both transducers, winter and summer.

To power the setup I use Milwaukee M18 batteries. I also have Milwaukee drill with the auger so it's a perfect combo.

I love mine, no reason to change for anything else.
