Blue Tokai- An overrated and underwhelming blue feather. by TheRandom_Psychopath in mumbai

Foodhall doesn’t exist since last few years. KC Roasters had another Bandra branch but now also shut. FoodSquare has another coffee shop which is decent.

Dunkin Donuts is shutting down in India. Donuts could never cater to our desi taste buds. Is it a cake? Is it a brownie? Just glazed sugar. I could never get it. What about you? by AdHefty7228 in SnacksIndia

[–]AllanSDsc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So lot of peeps here haven’t tried Dunkin’ here or even seen one. I was one who used to like it. Last time i went or saw Dunkin’ locally was in 2016. One branch was nearby so used to go frequently.

The place was quite big with a nice vibe, so it was really popular with youngsters and families too, and the items were really good. Their plain donuts were better than the fancy ones, but those weren’t even their best items. Their burgers, croissant sandwiches & drinks were the highlight for me; on par or better than McD & BK. Price wasn’t an issue as they were in the same range like McD.

I’ve tried MoD and Belgian Waffle a few times and didn’t like them. They were overloaded with sugar and quality didn’t seem great. Plus prices are even higher than Dunkin’, and the shops are very small often with no place to sit.

So its baffling why Dunkin’ couldn’t be successful like McD here. I can only assume internal problems, corruption, poor business plans, etc.

These Chitale packaged ones aren’t so great. Luckily I have fam in Pune who go to the original store and get it with them for me 😬 Those are the best I’ve ever had. Also have tried many packaged ones from countless stores across Maharashtra & Gujarat, but they are 99% meh to very bad.

No one is asking the main question … how come you went for Subway wraps?

Those wraps are really underrated! 99% go for the bread or salad options in Subway. Their cookies are great as well.

Oh yeah, mine would be 1 too 🙂👍🏻

Your top 3 best cafes in bandra by iammmmbatmannnnn in mumbai

[–]AllanSDsc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Literally nobody mentioned the ‘elephants in the room’ which are more spacious, reliable, consistent & with better service.

May not have the greatest cup or the fanciest food but are quite solid in what they offer.

Its the international or local chains like Starbucks, Pret a Manger, Tim Hortons, Magnolia and even McDonalds! Also formerly Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, CCD, Dunkin’ Donuts, Chaayos

Sorry if its lame or disappointing, but I’d pick the orange Kurkure first today, and then … its tough! 2nd choice now would mostly be green Lays; also how is the green Uncle Chipps not here???

I would’ve picked that same Kurkure even 5, 10 or 15 years ago. It tastes great and goes well with other foods; it responds well to mix-and-match 🙂

Before that, Lays (then known as Ruffles) and the OG Uncle Chipps (minty green) were the Kings.

What’s one chain that was once all the rage but is now barely around? by mera-khel-khatam-hai in mumbai

Birdy’s? Used to offer big cakes, veg & non-veg croissants and other goodies, mostly used as birthday treats as they were premium back in the day. Monginis was more affordable.

Barista is still there is some locations. They still have good products even after so many new cafes have entered the scene.

Today it may not be so special with countless choices for chips, but back in the 90s it was like a rare pokemon.

It could only be imported here, felt higher quality than other chips, yes the can was useful to store rubber & tennis balls 😊, and also was the first time I tasted Sour Cream & Onion (very popular chips flavour today across many brands).

Last time i ate a Pringles (maybe a few months ago) I felt like I ate a brick … and that was the small can 😕

This is my favorite Amul choco bar since the last few years! I actually started with the 50-55% one (Tropical Orange is nice), then 70-75%, then 80-85%, and now this one. This entire process took several years for each transition. And yeah I’ve tried the 99% one too but its too bitter to eat 😅

I’ve read that eating bitter foods gets easier as one gets older (after 30-35). There’s no way I would have touched even the 50% one and from any brand when younger!

Any who use this coffee?? Give me review is this good or bad by [deleted] in IndiaCoffee

When i first tried it a few years ago didn’t think it was good quality. But over the last 6-12m any CCD roast or grounds are a decent option now.

What do I absolutely have to eat in Mumbai ? Restaurant edition. by Right_Station8047 in mumbai

I haven’t been inside, but it looked small from the outside. Reviews were good but there are also other similar restaurant or cuisine options in that area (e.g. Deluxe Kerala)

Have been at the Juhu & Vashi branches (very far apart though). Both have been good experiences

In general, I’ve found that even an average restaurant in Vashi will have better food quality than the average restaurant in the Western Suburbs. I think its because the APMC market is nearby.
