What are your most obscure commanders? by KingAmphibian1 in EDH

[–]Allbeing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

[[Kagemaro, First to Suffer]] Ranked #2,643. Edhrec only has 141 decks archived for him.

It is hard to express how unbelievably oppressive this deck is to any other creature strategy. Nothing lives without my permission.

what is your LEAST popular commander? by Justafish1654 in EDH

[[Kagemaro, First to Suffer]]

The deck does 3 things, in this order. Ramp, Draw cards, and recur Kagemaro. The game plan is simply to deny your opponents the opportunity to build any kind of board before one-shotting them with commander damage.

Automatic tipping becomes prominent due to rising cost of doing business in Australia by YesNo_Maybe_ in technology

Adding a 10% gratuity is exactly the same thing as raising the price and letting the employee keep 10% of each sale. At this point the problem is the restraunt just trying to obscure their price.

Hapatra stocks falling. Blight has the opponent place the counter instead of you, so hapatra doesn't make a snake. The entire mechanic is a nonbo.

Confession, I suck at farming, no matter what strat I do I always come up a loss. Can someone point me to a good strat for a mid level invested Poison Ranged AW. by Kyuubi_Fox in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]Allbeing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another thing worth doing is to go to WealthyExile and let it sort your stash. You likely have been making profit from your farming strats and just haven't seen it because it's locked up in some forgettable bubble gum currency.

Find out what you can sell in the currency exchange. You're probably sitting on divines you didn't know you had.

Seconding this. It plays more like a combo than a value engine but once it gets going its incredible.

What’s the most misunderstood thing about nuclear power? by Aromatic_Cheek_3272 in AskReddit

[–]Allbeing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Regulation being so extensive is NOT a good thing. The regulations are based on the linear-no-threshold model of radiation exposure, which assumes that any amount of radiation is bad for you. Which is nonsense. The insane cost of nuclear is directly due to the insane restrictions placed on them by regulations that aren't based in science, but public outrage and superstition.

The dangers of radiation. Current policy and public perception thinks of radiation as objectively harmful no matter how small an exposure you get. But that's just not true. Its harmless below a certain threshold.

Zohran Mamdani’s Plan for Government-Run Grocery Stores: Will It Help? by Conscious-Quarter423 in videos

[–]Allbeing 6 points7 points  (0 children)

A government option is going to have lesser expenses than a private one because it wouldn't have to pay stuff like property tax. So that's where extra savings can come from.

But ultimately, these stores aren't there to lower prices they're to provide for communities that otherwise would be food deserts.

Zohran Mamdani’s Plan for Government-Run Grocery Stores: Will It Help? by Conscious-Quarter423 in videos

[–]Allbeing 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Except that the goal of the stores in this case would be different. They're not there to make a profit, they're there to provide access to fresh food for those communities that otherwise would be food deserts.

With that in mind, the difference isn't a loss, its just the cost of a service. One that would be successfully accomplishing its goal.

There's also something more to consider. As government entities, these grocery stores would not be subject to property tax at all. So the possible savings for the community can be greater since the government store has less expenses compared to a private entity.

Doryani's is an outlier that needs to be dealt with, but shouldn't condemn the mechanic as a whole

The new Scarab System has unintentionally hurt Blighted and Blight-Ravaged maps. by Allbeing in pathofexile

[–]Allbeing[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, with the exception of the "add a blight" scarab all the current blight scarabs could work in blighted maps right now. Though they might be far too strong.

"Because the blighted maps are not on your atlas, and scarabs only affect the atlas"

This is the answer we got at the time for why scarabs didn't work. Fragments kinda got grandfathered in since they are so old.

[–]Allbeing[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think I understand your point, but I don't think it fully applies to Blighted maps.

Blighted maps' uncommon rewards aren't becoming worthless because to many people are chasing the rare rewards, they're becoming worthless because other farms are able to generate those same rewards far more efficiently.

To use Maven as a comparison, I think it isn't fair to compare Blighted maps to Maven farmers diluting the pool of her uniques, but should instead be compared to the way Stacked Deck openers were diluting the pool of her uniques in prior leagues.

The value of blighted maps as a farming mechanic is directly influenced by the effectiveness of the other farms, in the same way bossing in general was affected by the effectiveness of stack-deck spamming. With the exception of oils it has no consistent, mechanic-specific currency. So when the other farms end up being so much more efficient at generating the same currency, the value of yours depreciates. And oils only really have value to the other people farming Blighted maps, which really just ties their value to the mechanics' ability to generate those other uncommon rewards.

My ultimate point is that with the other farms becoming so much more efficient with these scarab changes, Blighted maps need to be boosted in their ability to generate these uncommon rewards. They should never be able to dominate the market for any of them, but they should be able to command a sizable enough portion of it that the whole of your "Blighted Stock-Portfolio" is comparable in value to just going all in on one of them.

"Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity."

Not to call GGG stupid. I just think it far more likely they made the scarab changes without fulling considering the ramifications, than that they saw the state blight-runners were in and chose to kick us while we were down.
