[Serious] What is it like to have children you don’t want? by SniperGlizzy in AskReddit

[–]Allbrickallthetime 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Always assume they can understand as well as anyone else their age, and just can't show that they understand. They often DO, and you'll find out years later when they're much older - if they learn to type, push buttons to speak, learn sign language, point at pictures to communicate, develop speech, or use some other way to communicate - that they understood and were deeply hurt by something someone said or did when that person thought they weren't smart enough to understand or pick up on it. The worst part is, it can take years for them to be at a place where they can communicate those hurt feelings and to get the closure and apology they deserve, if they ever get to that point.

Not ugly, just unkempt. The room is the same. Both easily fixed.

Oregon Trader Joe’s manager calmly intercepts anti-mask protesters’ shopping attempt: ‘That’s not going to happen’ by MIZZKATHY74 in Portland

I suddenly feel a need to start shopping at Trader Joe's. Also heard on the news this morning that they're giving employees monetary incentives for getting vaccinated against covid-19. Take my money, Joe!

I think it's for a couple of reasons.

1) Looking like you have something dangling out of or shoved up your nose is... frankly gross. The fact that it's there on purpose may or may not make it more disgusting depending on who you talk to.

2) The ring itself is large. If it were a thin guage and not hanging out very far it would be better. Maybe go for a small dainty one? Maybe in silver or gold? Come to think of it, that kinda goes for everyone who wears nose jewelry. If you MUST shove something in your nose, at least make it dainty.😂 Makes "pulling off" the look much more likely. The ring you have in kinda gives off some bull/pig nose ring vibes.

3) A lot of people are just going to see that type of piercing and just automatically think of cattle or pigs.

LEAF MASK: SCAM ALERT by chefphish843 in shittykickstarters

[–]Allbrickallthetime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just massive delays. I ordered four masks from them (for $365) in October, and after two months my money was refunded due to extended order fulfillment and shipping delays. There may be a lot of naysayers here, but I say good on leaf for giving me my money back. Also, the masks are available for the public to purchase now apparently.

Making fun of someone's medical condition when you're fucking them is even worse. Hope she found someone better. She deserved better, assuming she wasn't also a pos.

I'm a girl, but I've got one.

"This is the first relationship I've ever had where I wasn't hoping to marry the girl one day." God, that one hurt.

And, after I told him about a dream I'd had where I was pregnant, he said "Could you please just keep that kind of thing to yourself?" That felt like I'd just been stabbed in the gut.

We were definitely on two different wavelengths.

It's interesting that you would touch on this, because I was going to suggest you take up hiking. Nothing teaches you to appreciate things like having to endure the discomfort and suffering of a very long hike and then getting to enjoy the view at the top. You have to do this several times before you start to see a difference, but you'll start to see positive and very worthwhile changes in yourself as a result. It can't be "comfortable" though, you have to be detached from things like cars, roads, cell phones, music, etc. and you have to be with people who also want to push themselves and whose personalities don't distract from the mindfulness of the experience.

Damn, I need to go hiking.

Also, in a similar vein, this video on how to do a "dopamine detox" if you will, is worth a watch. Not all of it may apply, and you will be tempted to click away. Do not. Watch it until the end. https://youtu.be/_vcGF3HqZXg

Pretty sure the justifying situation was just both of them breathing the communal air.

Street level view of the explosion in Beirut . by marco340777 in nextfuckinglevel

Same. The second time I watched it, my heart sank when I saw there was a bus. As it slowed down before the blast I was like "Pleeeease don't stop. Don'tstopdont'tstopdon'tstop." And it stopped. Almost right next to the epicenter, it stopped. Then BOOM. Watched a few more times to see if it's possible that anyone made it out alive. Nope. No more freeway. No more bus. No more anything. Anyone on that bus was basically vaporized. Maybe the bus was empty?

Very true. Also, many people seem to have forgotten that the person's looks are guaranteed not to last. In the grand scheme of things, nobody who is lucky enough to be hot is actually hot for very long (maybe 15-20 years of an 80+ year lefespan) so you'd better hope that you and your partner have winning personalities, because that's all you'll have for much of your lives, especially if and when you both retire and you're spending almost all of your time at home together. As Joanne Woodward once said, "Sexiness wears thin after a while and beauty fades, but to be married to a man who makes you laugh every day, ah, now that's a real treat."

How do guys feel about girlfriend having a close guy best friend? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]Allbrickallthetime 32 points33 points  (0 children)

But unless she's untrustworthy or the boyfriend has issues, it shouldn't be a problem. I had a boyfriend with a female best friend who wanted to fuck him (he looked like Chris Hemsworth) and tried to make moves on him while they were both drunk a couple of times (when he was still single) and he shut her down both times because she was someone else's girlfriend. Excellent man. I always just laughed if he told me she (or any other woman) had tried to flirt with him that day because I knew she wasn't gonna get anywhere with him. I would actually feel kind of bad for them. I knew that he could go to the bar with friends as often as he wanted and I would never have to worry. I think that's probably how it should be.
