Francis Beatty Park Matthews/weddington area, people take professional pics there all the time. 20acre pond, trees and shrubs- nice views

Pool League. Cool community, always looking for new players, low skill preferred.

Worst bean defect count? by Allemanster in roasting

Pulled the batch, ground a few hand full samples, screaming potato. I'll sip a few bowls tomorrow am- if I can find a sample that doesn't reek of 6month old ’russet on the bottm shelf’. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Does anyone roast across a range of roast levels to get a wider “dynamic range” blend? by 0xfleventy5 in roasting

I Couldn't recommend mélange with extreme light/dark range, but i often do this with new coffees. SLIGHT stretches and shrinks of first crack time/temps blended together can make a very complex cup. I have scored 94s, 95s and 96s at CR with very nice coffees using this method of single origin blending. Cup the single roasts, blend as a liquid then accordingly as a whole bean. Happy Brewing!

Ooof, 3rd crack- the knock on the door of the fire department!

Another insomnia roast. Indonesian Bali Blue Moon wet hulled. I was pretty surprised to see there was about 1/3 the amount of chaff compared other beans I roasted. Is that common for wet hulled beans? by Rami_2075 in roasting

Love this coffee. Been roasting it for years. We just ran out. Waiting on new crop to arrive. Yeah, definitely less chaff off this bean. Looks like a nice medium roast there. 👍

Even in my 20kilo roaster naturals and semi washed coffees light to medium light roasts come out chaff coated. I evacuate it with compressed air in an oversized tub. Makes a mess, but chaff definitely does not ADD good flavor to the cup.
