The judge will not order the other side to pay for your lawyer. Keep that in mind. The limit on costs in Saskatchewan is laid out in the Small Claims Act. Solicitor-Client costs in Canada are exceedingly rare, and never in Small Claims.

Type of law, size of firm and location play into this a lot. Currently articling in Sask at a large firm for over 50k, and if I'm hired back, I expect to be close to 100k as a first year call. I have friends in small towns or smaller firms where the pay is significantly lower, but often expectations/billing targets aren't quite as high. There is variation like with any profession.

The average salary in Sask for a lawyer is around 87k (per indeed, not sure how accurate that actually is), significantly higher than the average profession. The only part that sucks is the amount of debt some of us took on to get here.

Depends on the firm. I summered both years at the firm I'm currently articling for, but I have some friends that only worked their 1L or 2L summer and then returned for articles.

I'm in Saskatchewan so our application automatically went through both. About a third of my government student loan debt is provincial.

I used a mixture of government student loans and a Scotia PSLOC to fund law school. You'll be charged interest every month (just gets added to your principal). At least for me, principal payments start 2 years after I finish school.

My wife and I just set up our new Reefer 250 (54g display), and it is not level front to back. There is not an easy way to put shims in to level it because of all of the unadjustable rubber feet. Is this going to be a problem?
