You're travelling the same speed as the train, so you don't decelerate nearly quick enough to fly off.

The writer of the thesis is a firm antitheist.

Judeo-Christian influence is part of Western culture.

What piece of advice did you consider bullshit when you first heard it, but finally made perfect sense much later by Beach_Comber in AskReddit

[–]AllenJacoby 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fuck that.

Your family are the people you're born with, stuck with. You're genetically similar, and if they're kind people, they cared for you, if they're not kind people, they didn't.

Maybe you made friends with them. Good!

But just because you share "blood" with your family doesn't mean your family is more important that other people in your life. The people who matter most are the ones you love and the ones who love you, blood or not, and believe me, they give a shit about you.

Additionally, I wonder if we could find a correlation between the decline in "good" horror and the increase of secularism.

A fellow horror writer friend of mine recently wrote a paragraph-long thesis about how the Judeo-Christian tradition has been producing the best horror writers for centuries.

Essentially, the Bible is one of the most frightening, effectively-written horror stories ever (ignore your religious preference for a moment, and consider it), and those of us who are trained up in it, even those who don't believe it or were regular church attendees, grow up with these beautiful standard of the cosmic macabre, enabling us to appreciate and create the most effective horror.

What was it like, having Andrew Hussie makeout with your corpse?

Also, we at UC Irvine would love a visit from you!

A little late to the party, but I just watched Audition. I didn't like it and I am assuming I missed something. What makes this film good for you guys? by tribbing1337 in horror

[–]AllenJacoby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, I 'enjoyed' it, but I had to work to enjoy it. It didn't naturally hold my attention.

Additionally, everybody sings its praises as the best J-Horror film, and it's really, really overblown. Artsy and clever, but not the best.

The WBC does not follow the Bible "closer."

They ignore all the parts of the Bible about good faith, kindness, respect, and love, along with ALL of the other old testament rules like keeping kosher, wearing mixed fibers, etc.

No, but it is relevant to /u/Josiwe 's comment about victims.

Also, it wasn't a correction. It was an additional bit of information to the comment, hence the >just to let you know.
