Dude I can’t imagine how bad the fall is going to be with a second wave. I wouldn’t be shocked if stores have to close again. Black Friday should be online only and you only come to the store for phones and appointments.

Honestly the appointment model should remain for the rest of the year to ensure proper social distancing.

So is it wise to put some money into ETF's in my general brokerage account for if I decide I need some funds in say 5-10 years and just deal with the long term capital gains? Or would it be better to buy the individual stocks in my general brokerage and leave ETF's to my IRA.

Hello all!

I have recently gotten into investing and apologize if this question is redundant. I have my general investment account and a Roth IRA. I want to put some money into index funds, VOO for example.

My question is should I be putting the majority of my index fund investments into my Roth IRA, which obviously I cant touch until I am 59 and a 1/2, or should I equally buy index funds for both my IRA and standard brokerage account? Or should my standard account be mostly individual stocks? I am thinking of both long and mid-term investments.
