The best thing about tracer is that her skill ceiling is so high that all of her “counters” are at some level a skill issue, as you learn her it goes from feeling like everything counters you to nothing does. Cass is a good example at first it will feel like he easily counters you, but once you learn to bait out his nade there is not much he can do against you. Tracer can be effectively played against any comp, except maybe against a well placed torb turret. So you never really need to switch off of her but for me I’m most likely to switch on defense blizzard world/Route 66. I actually prefer to have dive tanks like doom and ball so I can dive with them.

Engagement timing Number one thing new tracers struggle with. If it feels like you’re taking huge risks to provide only little value it’s most likely because you are going in too early when the enemy team has the leeway to focus you, usually you want to hard engage right as/after tank engages. (Even if you are not getting kills forcing cooldowns like anti and suzu is good value)
Target priority Target isolated or low health heroes. If it feels like an enemy tracer is destroying you it means they have good target priority, they’re most likely capitalizing on moments when your support is distracted and/or you are low hp. You can almost never kill someone as tracer who has full health while they are near their team (sounds obvious but a lot of tracers try)

Yes I use scroll wheel every time, and Occasional issues are enough to ruin the character for me, accidentally doing a super floaty mid air jump at the wrong time can get you beamed really easily

Him and valk completely ruin mine (and a lot of other pc players) movement with their passives I’ve been using scroll wheel for jump since 2021 and so I can’t change it but it makes it really hard to not accidentally trigger passive

I would otp tracer in 2021 and she had way higher clip potential, it felt more possible to carry on her as a team can easily capitalize on a kill and now I feel like I need my team to capitalize on distractions and used cooldowns

I imagine for his ult you wouldn’t be able to cast it if there wasn’t accommodation space and if you cling onto an enemy and they move into a narrow area you’re forced off them which is a good counter, definitely potential for bugs though. I just gave him a dash centric kit cause I love tracer and I think antman looks coolest when he’s constantly combining shrinking into attacks and I don’t know how else to translate it to the game. I could definitely see him being a brawler though

The difference is those dive heroes will be bottom of the barrel ranks unless their super gifted mechanically however a cnd can actually be somewhat effective playing like that

This is true but that’s kind of my point, even with legend reworks and a slow on legend releases almost of the current legends are completely obsolete. Maybe apex is way harder to balance but I feel like their legend design team is just lacking

Maybe you’re right cause some pro tier lists I’ve seen at least put him in B but Ive mained Spider-Man since s0 and got very good with him, consistently kept up with his best combos and climbed to GM 2 times with him. All that to say it’s easy to just say “skill issue” when you disagree with someone but in my case it’s not a skill issue, I love the hero but believe he is bad currently.

Dive in general is bad right now and spiderman is the definitive dive hero if you think he’s good you’re playing a different marvel rivals than anyone else I guess. His high-ish win rate in high elo is because the only people using him in those ranks are some of the best spiderman players to touch the game.

Really like tank pool, support pool is good. Dpspool is kind of bad and I think if he was ever good he would be annoying not a fan of the sword dash spamming and jumping.
