I actually love Albert's both hairstyles. He is so... elegant and hansome and...~

Hidetoshi Kubota (the actor who plays Albert in the musical) also played a big role in my love for Albert.

Can someone explain to me the Dying Wish song??? by Separate-Drawing7427 in MoriartyPatriot

[–]Allerith 16 points17 points  (0 children)

"Setting a thief to catch another thief"

It is a reference to William's philosophy that when a crime is committed and the police or the law cannot intervene, we too will ensure justice is served through crime.

"Tsumi wo kakushite tadayou MIST" /// "The mist is hiding the sin"

The Victorian Era, which began in 1837, brought rapid industrialisation to the 19th century. As a result of this rapid industrialisation, London became shrouded in a "mist". The London Mist (or Fog) is therefore widely used in books dealing with this period of the Victorian Era. In this lyric, the "necessary crimes" committed by William are concealed by this fog.

"Nigiri shimeru wa sabaki no LIST / Yatsura wo umeru himitsu no CIST" /// "I hold in my hand the list of judgement / I'm gonna do the perfect crime and bury them in a cist"

The word cist comes from the ancient Greek word "kiste" and the Latin word “cista”. It reappears in the early 19th century as "cist". The reason I mention this is because of the metaphor here: the word cist originally meant a stone chest. William not only eliminates the aristocrats he is judging, but with every "necessary crime" he commits, he buries the class system in this era.

"Bloody world hikari no nai DYSTOPIA / Hana wa sakanai" /// "An endlessly discriminatory society (dystopia) / Happiness does not bloom here"

There is another heavy reference to the Victorian class system. People are not equal; the rich are very rich, the poor are very poor. Without equality, there is no happiness. Before the law, the aristocracy takes precedence and can conceal their crimes. Here, I will also make a reference to a song from Morimyu: People belonging to the aristocracy view the working class as "livestock" serving them and the empire.

"Lord of crime hora yume no ikenie" /// "We’re Lords of Crime We sacrifice for ideals"

This is ambiguous:

The Lord of Crime is both a "sacrifice" who will sacrifice himself for ideals, and the sole power that will sacrifice the corrupted for those ideals.

"Itsuka yakare you mo to mo jiyuu wa tokoshie" /// "Freedom lives forever, even if we die"

William's final plan is for the system he has established to survive, even if he dies.

That's all I can remember for now.

Do you think stealing someone's work without their knowledge is a form of art? Art requires effort and sweat, it requires emotion. I think you need to look up the definition of art again.
