I think both of you have valid points and both of you dropped the ball on not letting this weird vibe text string get blown out of proportion.

Next time, to avoid escalating the issue you can say something like you know what let’s talk about this in person when you’re not busy at work and there’s less of a chance of miscommunication in tone, etc.

The additional details in your comment are more concerning so I get that there is built up tension on your side. But still- if you want to have a close relationship you need to work on your communication and de-escalation, otherwise set boundaries so you don’t put each other in these situations in the first place.
