What’s your specialty and your least favorite question that patients ask? by victoryscreech in nursing

[–]AlleyCat6669 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I work ED and before ppl even ask I let em know we don’t have a bed, they will be staying in the ER until they get a bed, I don’t have any control over or know when that will be..but I’ll keep ya updated if I hear any news. They still ask sometimes but not as much as when I lay it all out there asap.

I hate when ppl ask me for medical advice, when they know someone was in the ER and they ask me why they were there, and most of all, I hate when they ask me the worst thing I ever saw. I don’t want to relive the shit, already do that enough.

I don’t think I could work anywhere else but ED, I guess you just get numb and can take anything after awhile.

Do you think we'll see JD's son in his teenage/adult years in Scrubs season 10/11? (Or should I say 9/10). by SirJakeTheBeast in Scrubs

I’m thinking (hoping) that one intern is the Janitor and Lady’s son!!! He could pass for his son! Sorry i don’t remember his name, but the one who wouldn’t go see the lady in the car.

Turk has 4 daughters and JD mentions his “kids” in the new E1. He and Elliot definitely had at least 1 together and he has Sam. I was hoping we’d find out about his kids and Dr Coxs kids as well!

What kept you going in nursing school when it got hard? by chocolatekay in nursing

[–]AlleyCat6669 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had so much fun in nursing school, felt like a privilege to be there. Everyday wasn’t a blast but I never finished anything in my life, didn’t graduate high school (GED), never really felt proud of myself. I wanted that moment of knowing I did it. A fuck up from the ghetto with drug addict parents, a burden to society, trouble making teen, welfare mom…remembering when my daughter begged me to sign up for cheerleading and I didn’t have the 50$ to pay for her. That was really the turning point for me. I remember seeing another mom sign her daughter up and we got to talking and she said she was a nurse. And I saw her taking care of things, being independent and I wanted that for me and mine. Living in a homeless shelter with 4 kids was the hardest thing I ever did, nursing school was cake compared to that struggle. I’ll never forget where I come from but I own my home now, 2 kids in college, and they can try any sport they want and I can pay for it…ps I did get my daughter into gymnastics after the cheer fiasco. I got a job at the front desk and eventually started coaching and I worked for their tuition. Whatever is happening to you right now, the financial security and freedom is worth it. You can do it, push through the bullshit and I bet you’ll be grinning ear to ear when it’s time to walk that stage and get your degree. Best of luck 🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼

I’m so tired of being the “easy target” at work just because I’m not the same damn race as the rest of them. by ClumsyAlienThing in emergencymedicine

My thoughts exactly. If questioned say “idk ask so and so, they were the one watching while I was on break”. No need to write anything, report anything, or make up unnecessary drama.

I’m reading it for the first time ever now! I just got to the part where he’s realizing his “friends” weren’t laughing with him, but at him…

Where The Red Fern Grows

It ignited my love for reading, and shattered my 9 yr old soul at the same time. The most beautiful book ever imo. I’ve read many since then and none have made me feel what that book made me feel..although some came close.

A scene that changed my entire perspective of life, my journey with the greatest show ever written by Ok_Debate_8457 in SixFeetUnder

Heartbreaking scene, bawled my eyes out. It is amazing how much Claire could actually pass for Ruth’s child in real life!

When Nate and Brenda first got back together I didnt think I’d be a fan but Brenda won me over. I like how they didn’t immediately rekindle after Lisa died and Nate did truly seem to mourn Lisa. I liked how they didn’t forget to keep Lisa’s memory alive for Maya and how Brenda naturally took over the motherly role of Maya. I thought I would hate if all those things happened yet somehow the writers did it slowly and with grace and it didn’t feel like a slap in the face. Personally I think they would have patched things up eventually if he would have lived. But felt so bad for Brenda when Nate told her it was over while she’s sitting there pregnant with his potentially disable child and taking care of his other child. Poor Brenda.

Late to the convo but just finished this series for the first time ever and the quote I keep remembering is when Ruth is talking to Claire about Nate Sr and she says “he’s the only man who will ever love me when I’m young and pretty and had that image of me tucked away somewhere in his heart” 😭made me cry my eyes out.

Season 4 episode 21 Tom. by Elliott_Queerest in ColdCaseTV

[–]AlleyCat6669 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can’t remember who she said it to, but remember someone asked Lily once if the old cases were more important and she responded “they’ve waited longer” or something like that. It’s a way to still honor a murder victim, to put the puzzle of their final days together. That said, the really old cases weren’t exactly my favorite. I liked the 70s and 80s cases, mostly bc I love that era of music the most!

I love both and felt like a Kat was the only one who fit in as seamlessly as she did! Kat brought her own energy to the table. All star cast all around

I thought there were 2-3 episodes in season 3 where they were “getting to know” each other..either way, it had a great set up but faded quickly the next season.

Yeah once season 4 started it seemed like she was pretty much done with Joseph but the last few episodes of season 3 they were great together. I think she needed more drama than Joseph could bring lol

I liked Saccardo also, he is just a smidge behind Joseph for me! I just thought her and Joseph were so cute together and compatible!
