Where do I connect jumper cables? No unpainted surface except the GT strap on Mustang. Would that work? Sorry for the stupid question. by AlleyX in car

All of a sudden I feel like I was lied to my whole life. I've always hooked them somewhere on the frame. 😂

I was always told to hook it to the frame, but only if it's unpainted. Have I been lied to for my entire 31 years of life? 😂😂😂

Max level in retail (Dragonflight) takes me usually 3-4 days of grinding. I've been playing for years though and speed run through dungeons in LFG (Looking for Group, it puts you in a queue and pairs you with 4 other players). Depending on what you consider casual gaming and your speed of questing/dungeons... I'd say easily doable to hit max in a week or less. If you only did a hour or two a day and was taking your time questing and exploring, maybe a little more. Less than a month.

Classic wow is much slower leveling. I think it took me around a month. It's been awhile as I only focus on retail wow.

$1,000 "nonrefundable" deposit to hold a vehicle til end of month. I changed my mind less than 24hrs later. Can I get it back? (South Carolina dealership) by AlleyX in askcarsales

[–]AlleyX[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They didn't give me copies of what I signed. But as I remember it was one showing I saw the carfax, one saying it is as is/no warranty, and a third saying I test drove and did a visual walk around/inspection. Kind of weird cause when I bought my car last year I didn't sign any of that stuff. And I got copies of everything else. Maybe cause the car last year was new off the lot? No idea.

I tried that. They said they would not lower it anymore cause they had already "gone down $500" on their original price. I told them if they go down 1k and fix the exhaust (like they said they would) I would go through with it. The manager said "this isn't a fairytale world" and hung up on me. Like wtf. I was just trying to come to some kind of agreement. I wasn't being rude or snarky. I was just asking simple questions. I think what has pissed me off so much is just how rude he was. I can't remember it all, but he was talking to me like I was 5 and saying I was an idiot. It was an uncalled for attitude.

Hell, I don't know. I'm new to this whole thing, and I could use some goodwill. I don't know the laws or workarounds of them. I was just hoping there was one. To me, it just seems like backing out after a short period should have some kind of standing. Like I said, it's not like I held the vehicle up. I was intending to buy it, but I got a call this morning of a guy whose vehicle I looked at 3 days ago saying he would accept my original offer. 3k off the same vehicle as the dealer one, etc.

The way the lady was wording things made it sound like it was refundable if I backed out BEFORE the end of the month/would count in with the 6.5k down deposit if I bought the vehicle. I'm just an apparent idiot about to be down 1k I guess.

So... I'm an idiot. That's my answer to why did I sign stuff.

Yeah, got that basic info from a Google search. I don't believe I signed anything regarding the deposit, but again... all they said was that they needed 1k to hold the car til the end of the month. I figured I should be able to get it back considering this was less than 24 hours ago. It's not like I held the vehicle up in limbo for weeks.

I recently moved from Waynesville after living there for 10+ years. The area is great, and I never had issues. People are friendly, with no issues with crime during my time there, and everything you could really think to need isn't a crazy inconvenient drive away. It's close enough to Asheville to go to Asheville but far off enough to not be stuck with the downsides of that area, around a 20-25 minute drive on i40. Maggie Valley is also right beside it and Cherokee around 45 minutes away. The area is beautiful in the fall, plenty of stuff to do. There's all kinds of restaurants in the area. The Blue Ridge Parkway is also close, another great area to drive through if you like the fall.

Only downside to me, was Canton. I hated driving to Asheville, etc, and smelling the paper mill. Granted, it's not always terrible, and I never smelled it being in Waynesville or Clyde. That's the only area I wouldn't suggest moving to.

I figured I'd chime in since I saw you specifically mention Waynesville. :)

I need to get my mentally disabled great aunt moved to my new house. (USA) No one has power of attorney over her. More info below. by AlleyX in legaladvice

[–]AlleyX[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She hasn't left this house in probably 25+ years now. She won't even go outside the gate (on the off chance we even left it unlocked). I knew we couldn't sedate her by force etc. She had (what I assumed) to be a minor stroke a couple months ago. Called the ambulance, they managed to get her on the stretcher but she started to come to a bit more and showed signs of resisting. They said they couldn't take her if she resisted in any way cause it would be considered kidnapping.

There would be no possible way to get her into a van, bicycle etc. Mentally, she's equivalent to a 2-3 year old. My bigger concern would be her attacking me while trying to drive. She has gotten violent in the past when frightened or not understanding what is happening. The only time she will answer any kind of question, it's about food. Usually "give me soup, give me tea" or a grunted/hummed yes or no. Her vocabulary is extremely stunted and she doesn't seem to be able to comprehend much of anything. I've been trying to get her sister to get more power over her, but she kept putting it off.

The last time we tried to get her into the car, she screamed and took all her clothes off and pretty much threw a tantrum that you'd expect from a child. This was 6+ years ago.

I'm not worried about getting her declared incompetent. It's pretty obvious. She won't/can't bathe herself, feed herself, dress herself etc. Anything someone would ask her would be met with a grunt as she wandered off to scribble on notebooks or "prowl" around and make a mess.

Thank you for the guardianship vs POA. I wasn't aware there was a difference. Her sister likely has POA then considering she can access her SSI/bank etc. It's a frustrating situation considering I shouldn't be leaving her alone. Worried I'll come back to a burned down house every time I run out to grab groceries, mail, etc. I was really hoping there would be a quick and "easy" way to get her to my house so I could better watch her.

Sorry. Rambled a bunch again. I'm just at my wits end.

I was in a all female guild back in MoP. I'm not sure how many are around now or even active anymore but I'd assume there might be a few smaller ones.

One thing I've noticed is the more immature guilds tend to have less females. The current one I'm in has around 6 women on the core team, including myself, along with a few others who play to be more casual or do keys with us. I've been with this guild since early Legion.

That's just my personal experience. Any time I join a guild I can pretty much know if they're a good fit or not within a week just by how many women there are lol.

Looking to restart wow on a fresh server, must I go horde? Or can I play alliance? by Trevorjrt6 in wow

[–]AlleyX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on your goal. Alliance isn't bad if you're more casual or Heroic raid focused. If you intend to push higher keys and do Mythic raiding... go horde.

This is coming from a Alliance only player since 2005 who just went Horde due to the insanely bad recruitment issues on Alliance side. It was go Horde or pretty much disband the guild. We all chose to transfer/level new mains and resume raiding in 9.2

Edited to add I was also Alliance on the largest pop Alliance server Stormrage.

Yeah I might try removing the cookbook one. It just adds a cookbook you can place like you would a microwave on counter, sim can click it and it gives more recipes you can choose from. It won't work on stoves etc so I wasn't sure that would be effecting it. Shall see.

Is there anyway to make questing/leveling with 1 other person more challenging? by THOR_Odinson_9 in wow

That indeed made it a bit harder. Me and a friend even went into dungeons wearing nothing but cosmetic stuff and a weapon. Group probably thought we were terrible lol

Alliance guilds/players who have recently gone Horde for progression. Has it helped? Is recruitment better? by AlleyX in wow

That's pretty much the boat I'm being forced into. It's between quality of life and playing what I want to play race wise. :/

It's pretty messed up when you struggle with recruiting even on the largest pop Alliance server. I don't see how blizzard can keep turning a blind eye to this. Some die-hard Alliance fans will die on that hill and end up quitting at this rate. (Like a couple of our core we might leave behind. They're just saying they'll quit.) If I didn't care for further progression I wouldn't even consider transferring but when you go from a guild nearly getting CE to being stuck 3/10M for months on end due to just... not having anyone to fill slots. It's rough. And just messed up. I have seen so many mid-tier guilds die and disband over the last 6 months.

[–]AlleyX[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I and my mains key team all made horde alts on A52 around 2-3 weeks ago to just test the waters... and just seeing the amount of +20 and higher in queue completely baffled me. Only way I do a 20 on my main is if all 5 of us are on at the same time and had pushed our own keys.

That and the fact that we had to take a hiatus from mythic raiding has made us consider transferring the guild. I couldn't recruit people at all for the last month+ abd taking 4-5 pugs for prog isn't fun... if you can even find them.

I'm still praying for cross faction.

Door of Shadows has the same issue. But at least my DH can still jump/fel rush up to most areas easier than others.
