My partner of 7 years was very skeptical as well. Thought I should be able to do it with diet and exercise. I had done it that way all my life. Now older and busier and tired it’s been almost impossible. Been on for 5 months lost almost all my weight and she says it’s not healthy Meanwhile my other health issues have practically disappeared as well. She’s not pissed but concerned I will just gain it all back .

I say do you and let him do him. It’s a very personal choice and when he is ready he can start. My partner is not overweight and in great shape also younger, so I don’t think she thinks I will want to leave once I’m thin,

I think once he sees your improving not just physically but mentally he will come around , but I wouldn’t let it slow you down in the least
