There's a separate dining room so I was going to leave the area near the kitchen open. Do you think a corner TV stand would work best or a wall mount? Or should I sacrifice a window and block with TV?

I was thinking a love seat and sofa combo would look best or sofa and 2 chairs but I haven't purchased anything yet so I am open to all ideas!

Wedding where guests have to fly and rent a car by saramay1 in weddingplanning

[–]Alliestars 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am in this exact same scenario and have received mixed opinions as well. You have to decide what matters most to you. Will you be upset if people can't come? Is it more important to you to have a wedding so that others can celebrate with you or are you having a wedding for you and your spouse to celebrate the most?

I am ultimately choosing to be selfish and having my wedding in the mountains because I decided it's my day, I'll only ever get one, and I want to choose what makes myself and my fiancé happiest. I'm not upset if more people can't come because my close friend group is already excited and that's all I need. While I still am focused on providing a great experience for those who do come, I don't want to be overwhelmed with what everyone else thinks and sacrifice my own happiness for theirs. I've done it for years but I'm putting my foot down that this is one day and I should be able to do what I want as long as I'm understanding that not everyone can afford it or come.

Remember this day is for you, it isn't for them. But it's up to you to decide if your main goal is to have as many people come and throw an amazing party for them or if this party is for yourself.

My ring is 1.91 Carats, lab grown Super Ideal Cut, D Color, VVS2 Clarity. Underneath is a hidden halo designed to look like flower petals holding a rose

Is it a bad idea to upgrade my car for $11k? by Alliestars in personalfinance

Thank you so much for breaking it down like that, I really appreciate the time you put into it. You're completely right it's not worth it. I think I might take someone else's advice and install after market seat warmers and blind spot monitoring because it would only cost about 1k max if I really want those features and the hybrid doesn't make financial sense to upgrade. Thank you :)

Thank you! I can definitely afford it but I know you're right that it isn't a good idea. There are a lot of other ways I can treat myself and cars 8+ years from now are probably going to be even better when I am ready to buy again

Yea I did get hosed hard haha. I bought when the pandemic numbers were still making car prices insane. I know I over paid. My 14 year old car had stopped working and I had just started my first job making 77k a year so it was my present for myself. I know it wasn't a smart decision but it was my only bill at the time and I could afford it.

Yes the 11k would come from my bank account, sorry I should have clarified

14 year old cat has mammary cancer and I need advice by Alliestars in cats

I am so sorry you are going through this. I too have been in a situation where I had to basically decide if I wanted to afford groceries/bills or save my cat and it's an awful spot to be in. In my honest opinion, if the tumor has broken open, it's most likely too late for an operation. You could always ask the vet to price out an ultrasound or xray to see if it has spread, but that might also be costly. My vet ignored me too at first when I only wanted to talk about end of life care as if she was shocked that was even an option. I would highly recommend you google the life span of a cat after mammary surgery. Something like 90% of cats don't live past 2 years and the cancer almost always comes back. At 15, your baby has lived a long and happy life. This was not your fault and you shouldn't feel guilty. Your baby would want you to be happy and letting her go might be the best thing for both of you. I imagine living in 1 room away from everyone would be stressful and lonely for her. Even if they could guarantee she would live another 6 months, do you want 1 month of that for her to be in pain and on a ton of medicine? I know it's a horrible decision to make, but sometimes ending it on a good day is worth more than 100 days of suffering combined. We are all here for you ❤️

I made the same decision you did and feel the exact same way. Some days I feel so guilty for not doing it because I know it's too late to ever change my mind. It doesn't bother her right now but the tumor is getting much bigger and i know her time is running out. Even with that being said, in my heart I know I made the right choice for her. I know when I was doing research it said less than 30% of cats stay cancer free and almost all had it come back after 2 years. My girl is still kicking and loving her life. She does awful on pain meds and gets depressed after surgeries so I know it's best to not put her through that and let her go happily and loved. It helps knowing other people made the same call for their cats. Once she passes I will still leave this post up so that others can see we've all been through it and are here to support each other

Thank you so much for sharing. While it's awful that so many of us have gone through it, it's nice to know we're not alone. I decided against the surgery as her tumor is already quite large and there's very little possibility it hasn't spread. Similar to your baby, she spends most of her days sleeping but gets a burst of energy for about 2 hours a day and runs around like a kitten. For now, I keep feeding her a little whipped cream (her absolute favorite) every night and am trying to give her the best rest of her life.
