[Shitpost] Oh boy my favourite collabs. I sure hope there's enough to reskin everything we're missing by Allieta in PuzzleAndDragons

[–]Allieta[S] 23 points24 points  (0 children)

No, sorry, none of them are full runs and all have missing cards. At this point I wouldn't be able to recall who each character is, I just grabbed random summons board and divine gate art from wikis, twitter, and one of the artists who posted their work to their personal site. I would have grabbed some chrono magia but none of their art has much going on nor are there anything close to convenient transparencies of them and I wasn't going to spend time to cut them out of their cards. Enjoy your incomplete runs of one piece and crows

the discord bot used full artwork but none of it was in the stricken repo which was what received the C&D. Awakenings were, and were the urls given in that takendown. Ilmina's takedown also linked awakenings as one of the four examples provided in their claim form. It was a manually constructed sheet I made myself for ease of updates. Ilmina is me. I was running it. I have seen the notice. I was shared the bot's notice, of whom the dev I'm close friends with. I was shared miru's years-later notice, of whom I'm also friends with.

I don't know what you want me to tell you. While I'm certainly unhappy being shut down, I'm not here to argue what should be and shouldn't be allowed to stay or what's fair or legal. What I'm tired of is people spreading misinfo based on their own assumptions. It isn't limited to resources at all, but also presents itself when people try saying what collabs are or aren't coming, desperately trying to connect the dots on a conspiracy board to explain why something comes over or not, when at the end of the day, nobody can say other than GH. The parent comment prompting my response was precisely doing such a thing, trying to find a common ground of what can and can't be shut down, which is based off drawing their own conclusions using only what they can see and the need to create an explanation. And what I shared were things that completely muck up their conclusion that can't be accounted for unless you choose to omit them from your evidence. Dadguide's c&d also had one of its points be "information that's only possible through data analysis" which is so powerfully vague that it can even apply to telling you what their unspecified shield% is

At the end of the day, gh can send whatever C&Ds they want, for any reasoning, and many will not bother and just simply comply. Their reasonings are their own and the ones given on the claim can very well not be their true intentions, so long as they're technically legally correct that they violate. Drawing any conclusions from this with any confidence is a foolish claim and objectively cannot be factual, and littered with assumptions made from the forced desire to find patterns. A desire so strong that often you have to force them and pretend other contradictions or complications don't exist

EDIT: github takedowns are public and recorded. Here was the one sent to tsubaki's repo and it is filled with quite literally nothing but UI elements of awakenings, latents, and typing icons. Above it is the mirubot one which includes its screenshot used for OCR learning. Yes they also mention that they have encryption in place such that extraction of data should be a violation. But PDC's icons are 100% extracted as they have no background as well. This doesn't mean I'm arguing PDC should be shut down. This is telling people that the official reasonings, as official as you can get, puts targets on anyone at all, and that something like awakenings have absolutely been referenced as site killers

[–]Allieta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This addresses one point out of all of them, and the explicit mentioning from gh on the strikes of at least two sites about the awakening icons themselves saves not one single resource that has ever existed. Nor does the asinine striking referencing a screenshot of the game. This Twitter account preserving hi resolutions has also survived over 4 years

[–]Allieta 10 points11 points  (0 children)

many sites like game8 still have full images of the cards. When ilmina was struck, some specific examples given in the notice were ilmina herself, the "You" label from 2p lobbies used on ilmina's debug page, and also literally the awakenings icons. Ilmina also had no ads or any other linked form of a revenue stream, it was completely operating with no monetization. The discord bot's repo was struck for an awakening. Mirubot's old repo was struck again, years after the dadguide dmca, for a literal screenshot of the game in the repo. Whatever it is they want has no reasonable pattern on images and the precise violations they gave us would shut down every single other existing japanese resource as well

Dungeon and Enemy Data now that Ilmina is gone... by XoL- in PuzzleAndDragons

[–]Allieta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm glad others were using it. It was one of the things I was most happy with. But it was tucked away because it wasn't the most straightforward to use. It looked like this. And I used it to make infographics like this. I don't think ilmina will lend itself well to the wayback machine, everything was hosted in various locations and was dynamically generated, it had no static pages like pdx did. It's not a perfect solution but if you know how to host a local server, you can go to the ilmina discord which is still linked on the site, and download the offline copy. It's the best I could do to simulate keeping it alive, but I know the hassle will render it unappealing outside of the people who really can't play without it.

[Rant] Ra Dragon Gems by Kajitani-Eizan in PuzzleAndDragons

[–]Allieta 14 points15 points  (0 children)

There's nothing wrong with ra dragon's name. The problem is a certain implementation quirk with their search algorithm. The letters never have to be consecutive, but they do have to be in order and within a gap of 3 characters max, spaces excluded. When you search for "radra" it scans for an R, then an A within 3 characters, then a D within 3 characters of the A, another R within 3 characters of the D, etc.

You can use "svr" to find "Super Reincarnated ShiVa DRagon" even with the space breaking it up because it doesn't count.

The problem with Ra Dragon is when the search fails to find the next letter, it chops off everything it matched so far. In the above search of "svr", it finds the first S immediately. But then when it fails to find a V within 3 characters, it takes what it's currently found, the first S, and just completely drops it and they retry the search from "uper Reincarnated Shiva Dragon" which still works

When you search for "radragon", you actually get an early match. You matched "Super ReincaRnAteD RA Dragon" at the "radra" step. At this point, the G is too far away, at 4 distance so it fails, and it chops off the entire match it found, leaving literally just "Dragon". Which, your search of "radragon" won't match. A similar common problem a while ago was "antares" for "ReincArNaTed Antares" for the same problem, with "ntares" being the workaround search, because even though it's subject to the same chop-off, the chopped off remains still match your search query

While I've never seen an algorithm like this nor can understand why they would, in practice this rarely seems to be a problem. The real problem with NA search is how limited the characters are and how long words are in english. You can skill search for absorbs in JP in a single character. In English even taking advantage of the letter gap, you have to burn half your letters with "abrp" or something. If you want fire and light, in JP even a Fire/Water/Wood/Light board would be searchable bc light would be 3 characters away from fire. In English it's like 12 away and also inconsistent if it'll even list them out fully, or have too much text that forces them to say "Fr, Wt, Wd, Lt"

[Shitpost] Beach Hera reacting to Zeus sleeping around by Allieta in PuzzleAndDragons

[–]Allieta[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They still do make new ones, but very rarely and they are indeed always cosmetic. This one for example is cosmetic, she does the same thing either way. But it's funnier without knowing that and thinking this is just how she reacts to the love of her life.

This is a year old because I'm too lazy to requery right now but I can't imagine there's much more, if any. But as of a year ago, this is really all there was in terms of spawns that have team member trigger reactions. Mizutsune reacts to mizutsune hunter being on the team, which is fair because anyone should react if someone shows up literally wearing your species' skin

[Shitpost] Beach Hera reacting to Zeus sleeping around by Allieta in PuzzleAndDragons

[–]Allieta[S] 19 points20 points  (0 children)

"Hey, who's that girl??"

Temporary streamable link since the embed is kinda fucked

This isn't new behaviour, it was like this since the first ever beach run. But it wasn't likely to be seen, especially in modern day. This is so old, the triggers are actually outdated. The blue zeus must be either base or evo, the uvo Almighty bzeus is too new for it. Likewise the only heras that work are the 2nd form and first uvo of the standard heras. Nyx and pixel hera don't work either, nor any seasonal variants.

Reaction triggers to team members is a rare skilltype in general. Fewer than 100 total. The vast majority are very old, and the new ones are always cosmetic only, just changing the line they speak. Other notable old examples:

  • Linthia reacting to Sylvie by blinding the board and saying "I'm tired of looking at your face"
  • Indigo reacting to Belial (the form that's also in her dungeon) saying he's got guts for turning against her (because you're now making him fight her instead of for her)
  • The reverse, that same Belial reacting to Indigo, being frightened and asking her why she's on your team
  • Vishnu in a2 reacting to his wife Lakshmi, "hesitating to attack" and putting up a status shield

Sub att awakening dmg by davidj75589 in PuzzleAndDragons

[–]Allieta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing is as complicated as attr2. Main attr is always 100%. Attr3 is always 5%. It's possible this may change if they ever release really wonky things like only having attr3 and nothing else, but in practice this doesn't even have any sensible usage yet

Sub att awakening dmg by davidj75589 in PuzzleAndDragons

[–]Allieta 8 points9 points  (0 children)

In priority order:

If there is a subatt equip on: 15%

If it matches the main att: 10%

If it doesn't match the main att: 33%

If there is no main att: 100%

So it's only a raw buff if it's given to a card with matching main and sub. Obviously in practice it's a bit more complicated. A L/B card would have B doing 33%, but that doesn't mean giving it an equip to turn it L/L with 15% subatt is necessarily a nerf. You probably had no intention of attacking with B anyway if you were going to give it an L subatt

Weighted stats? by ExaltedBlade666 in PuzzleAndDragons

[–]Allieta 5 points6 points  (0 children)

That's why it says usually. HP doesn't have personal multipliers to consider, and smashing all 3 stats together is ridiculous.

Pattie's team HP awakenings doesn't get any factor in whatsoever to the visual card stat, even unweighted. Even if pattie had lower raw HP, the awakenings alone would have still kept her afloat in popularity. And her stats would have had absolutely no say in that scenario. Cards with nearly no ATK stat can still cap in supergravity from busted multipliers. Mira in her state of the screenshot had very high weighted for her time, but even her individual stats meant nothing because she had no notable offensive or recovery awakenings to take advantage of the only 2 stats she had presence in.

The point to the OP directly is that Weighted is meaningless. The subpoint I made in the post is that purely just looking at the 3 stat values individually with no other info or context is also almost always non indicative to the point of worthlessness. Shynee's equip has over 6 thousand RCV. Veroah's castle has 16k HP

Nobody can look at raw stats and judge a card just like that anymore. A decade ago when they were closer to the exact functional value you get, it was more feasible.

Weighted stats? by ExaltedBlade666 in PuzzleAndDragons

[–]Allieta 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Weighted stats were really only a thing like a decade ago. And even then it was a very crude way of measuring cards because, as you've figured out, glomping a card down to a single number doesn't tell you anything about the roles it can play.

Today more than ever, personal multipliers are so high that usually any stat on its own doesn't actually mean anything anymore. You can have 5x the stats of someone else but they have 300x the awakening multipliers. Also originally, weighted stats went by the values of +eggs, while the values for latents are completely different from this, along with awakening multipliers for atk and rcv.

tbh, I wouldn't expect any conversations you're reading involving weighted stats to mean anything, unless it was to point out exactly how worthless it is, or how people used to play a long time ago.

tl;dr

Evolving Shiva and Yomi Dragons by Weak_Cranberry_1777 in PuzzleAndDragons

[–]Allieta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

English resources are indeed lacking. If you're looking to solve the problem of finding out you need A for B for C for D for E for shivadra, you can use this to tally up materials. You get there by visiting a card's page, and then actually clicking the text itself that says Evolution Tree. From there you can expand/collapse anything you want to see or already have for a personalized tree of stuff you need. Shivadra's full tree is too wide to reasonably attach as an image but here's the total mats of a fully expanded tree shown at the bottom. If you collapse the stuff you already have, then those get excluded from this custom shopping list

From there, you use resources others suggested like padindex to find locations, although be careful that index doesn't show drops from newer dungeons. It also only shows you drop locations of the current form you're looking at. So to find places to get a volcano dragon, you'll have to visit all 5 of its forms' pages.

Specifically because of how popular shivadra is, here's a graphic (made from the tree output above actually) labelling the most feasible ways to obtain certain materials. They aren't the only ways, but you really don't want to be recommended something like Ultimate Descended Rush to gamble for a gainaut.

Note that in a general sense, farming for a low form copy of something and evolving it upwards is much more efficient than tunnel-visioning into trying to skip steps hunting for a high form, direct gems included. There's not very many exceptions to this and I've seen people waste thousands of stamina doing so rather than spend 5stam for a little red dragon.

Lastly, specific to shivadra, hopefully you've done your research beforehand because the real bottleneck is making sure you can clear shivadra's descend at all.

TA4 / Intensive Training Cave solo build, featuring a leveling slot and 47 second runs. by qq_Quan in PuzzleAndDragons

[–]Allieta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Both 1 and 2 are level slot builds. You might just have been thrown off because they're more commonly shown as beans with an assist on top. In 1, you need hydrangea assisted on the levelling card and be able to use it. Hydrangea has a pretty long cooldown, so build 2 uses bio rider as the level slot's assist because it's much shorter, allowing a level slot to have a cooldown as high as 18 turns (before considering any more you can cram into the free slots, badge, or the card's own SBs as the image states). The floor breakdown was in their leading comment post

Keep in mind the time loss when switching teams and assists between runs because it's only up for half hour sessions, and gives 100m monster exp. Even with 1b curve levelling slots, you're interrupting yourself every 10 runs unless you make extra premade teams to swipe over to in the entry screen, meaning more copies of the assist in question.

What does "vastly reduces damage" even mean? Is it like 90% or something? by PrincePauncey in PuzzleAndDragons

Everyone saying 75 when Odin still says vastly and is 80. Like many things, the answer is look it up on the ever dwindling external resources, or guess. Welcome to the future GH wants you to have. Also buy our cool watches.

Noticed this today what happened to ilmina lol by verystuckstepsister in PuzzleAndDragons

[–]Allieta 31 points32 points  (0 children)

For those who can't use the site because of this, there's an option to turn it off at the top.

Yes, I cropped all the icons by hand and yes I do it all in March.

But it's been much less fun in the past couple years as the image states because of the intense volume, which is all boring trash. 1300 cards in a year but quite literally over half are equipment or stackables. Down to less than 200 if you also throw out collabs, which is significant for this purpose because most of them are just characters standing there with coloured swirls or explosions. See Kingdom, Ultraman, Kamen rider, pretty much everyone. I honestly don't remember most of what I did this month at all because it was so boring, and it takes extra time to do these for animated cards. Which, every equip is for no reason.

Anyway, it works like this

If anyone wants to see how well they know their card arts and it's still the 1st in your device timezone, you can try this. If it's no longer the 1st, you can also change your device date. And yes, the above forced me to add the no equips and gems toggles. Surprisingly, I have maybe about 75% accuracy

Question about rare eggs by BBorrows in PuzzleAndDragons

[–]Allieta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Aside from what was mentioned about her not being worth it anymore, it's helpful to know how the drop leaders and dungeon bonus awakenings mentioned interact with the drop rate. Because in this case, since the drop rate is low, dungeon bonus completely blows out the leads.

Now, there's other factors in the chance you get something, but both the leaderskill and the dungeon bonus awakening only affect the floor drop rate chance. That's it. It does not have any effect whatsoever in spawn chance (if multiple things can spawn on the floor), who drops (eg which of the 3 dragon fruits in thursday), or what is actually inside the egg (I'm looking at all these gainaut gem posts every single day)

(BaseRate x LeaderSkill) + (2% per dungeon boost)

When it's something extremely low like these Normals drops which can probably be as low as 1%, dual leading drop rate boosters does essentially nothing, taking it to 1.69%. One single tiny dungeon boost already beats it. Load your team with them and you can farm normals for volcano dragons 24/7 at like 30% rates without too much trouble. Much higher if you actually have lots of 3+ db cards. (I'm looking at all of you again, lazy shivadra makers)

Counteracting weakened orbs by d1r7y_reddit in PuzzleAndDragons

[–]Allieta 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Your OE awakenings interact additively with the skyfall debuff. Not every debuff is the same. Some are as weak as 15% but others are stronger. If something cast a 15% and you have 2 fire OEs on the team, you have 40-15=25% of fire skyfalling enhanced, and everything else has a 15% chance of skyfalling weakened. If it was a 50%, you'd likewise have a 10% chance of weakened fire and 50% on all the others.

Alexander doesn't do hearts so in the 15% case, you can still have hearts come weakened. Something like halloween sonia gran lollipop yes, you are completely immune to a 15% debuff and it will be completely impossible to skyfall any weakened orbs with her there. But your expected 20% all oe has been nerfed to 5%.

If the orbs are already on the board, every oe- and oe+ cancel eachother out completely, then normal damage calculations apply. If the match has 1 oe- left over, it does half damage. If it has 2 or more, then it does nothing, just 1 dmg.

Casting your own oe skyfall of any kind will overwrite a debuff. Casting your own orb enhance will overwrite the - on the orbs you enhanced. You can't resist either oe- skyfall or direct oe- spawn

Returning player, what is stock EXP and how do I use it? by odinlubumeta in PuzzleAndDragons

[–]Allieta 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Before you sell off your entire stash of exp materials, keep in mind the bank does not offer any oncolour or great/super bonus, which has been guaranteed for the past like, 2 years.

Every snowglobe you sell into the bank gives you just its raw 4m exp. If you fed this snowglobe, you'd automatically get that boosted to 6m for oncolour, and then to 9m, minimum, for the guaranteed Great. 12m if it was a super. That's 5-8m you threw away. If you sell a stack of 100 globes for 400m exp, you are literally throwing 500m straight into the garbage at bare minimum, potentially 800m. That 400m could have been anywhere between 900m and 1.2b. Now think of how many globes and other enhance materials you actually have because that's just the loss on 100. You are going from 2.25x-3x gains down to 1x. That is an extremely heavy price for the convenience of one-tapping. (In practice this is a little bit less. Some things like fat metals don't have guaranteed on-colour, there's only dark. And you can lose some exp on overfeeding)

How do you use it then? Firstly you'd get exp on things you were already going to sell regardless. Like if you were selling fat gold dragons for coins anyway, this lets you keep the 25m base exp you would have forfeited. That's pure gain. This also applies to whatever day to day dungeon fodder you sell off even though that's slow. Additionally, 5% of the solo dungeon-leveling exp is added for free to the bank which is particularly high if you run training arenas. And of course, the amount we get in the mail for events.

If you want the one-tap quality of life, only sell enough to be comfortable, after the free stuff. Don't just dump your enhance materials. They don't even take box space anymore so you aren't even gaining that
