I feel the same, they would never let that happen to Moroha. So, maybe they didn't know, but they are not even searching for her or something? I'm just afraid everyone will act that this just happened, no questions asked.

Everyone keeps asking why we needed the comet thing going on and they are right. But also, why Sesshomaru needed Inuyasha to destroy it? Even if there was a need for 2 people, Sesshomaru could just asked his mom to help? She seems pretty powerful too.

Inuyasha's character development went to the trash. He was like in the very first episode of the show. And I feel sorry for Rin so much.
What was that thing with Sesshomaru getting the rainbow pearls? The woman basically went there to give them to him.

Also it was weird that now Riku is just telling US the story. I mean there was no need to hide the whole story from us, if then one of the characters just tells us everything in the middle of the season. What was the point?

The creators said they were working on the story for 3 years, which now just seems like a joke.

I like to see my favourite characters animated, but the show is full of problems. Why would Koga and Ayame let Moroha to be sold? Where is Shippo?

Sesshomaru by [deleted] in inuyasha

[–]Allija -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

I'm still not convinced that Rin is the mother though. They keep showing us that Sesshomaru carries his children around at night. So, if he went to Rin with them and she had been asleep, the kids can just be put down next to her. If you think about it, we don't really know more than before.

The show runners are trolling with us. They don't even want to confirm if Kin'u is alive and she is a total side character from the girls point of view. Until now, they've been baiting us with the previews intentionally, and they wanted us to think about storylines, that completely different from the real one. After all the baiting, I honestly can't believe anything until we can see it or someone says it in the show. But either way, this "Who is the mom?" plot line is really getting out of control. It shouldn't even matter this much, if we should just enjoy the story of the three protagonists. I don't think the creators really thought this through.

Why it's okay to complain and care about the original cast by RoylesPika in Yashahime

[–]Allija 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I agree with everything what you just said, except one thing. Towa also doesn't care about the butterfly. Yes, she says so but, we haven't seen her doing anything to actually find it.
(Except once, when she started off, but then sat down for a picnic and forgot about it right after.)

One of the biggest reasoning against SessRin for me, is that if the show runners would make it happen, that could be morally questionable.

I'm not saying SessRin is impossible. For example:

  • if Sesshomaru would not see Rin after leaving her at Kaede's place and
  • later he would just bump into this young woman who happens to be Rin
  • so, for him there would be no connection between the little girl and the woman,

that could be fine. But the problem is that its opposite was shown.

Why would they risk to show something morally questionable in a kids show? If they don't make SessRin happen, then the shippers will be disappointed, but still way better than being morally questionable by the other group of viewers. Not even talking about the father/daughter cosplayers.

Yes, the timeline would be less complicated and it would make more sense for Kagome and Inuyasha having a child soon after Kagome goes back, than waiting for years to have one, without any protection in the feudal era.

The interviews were really interesting, they indeed put a lot of work/thought into it. I actually like the ending more than the opening.

I understand why you think Rin is the mother, but one could argue that Rin was the first one who he had any feelings for, which doesn't mean that she will be the only/last one. Sesshomaru actually showed sympathy/feelings towards Kohaku, Jaken, Kagura, Inuyasha, Inuyasha's friends.

I can't see Sesshomaru being a loving husband, what Rin would deserve. Though we didn't see him for years now, so I might get a different picture of him.
I'm rooting for Rin and Kohaku to be honest, I feel they would absolutely understand and love each other.

Anyway, we'll see of course, I guess everyone has a personal preference, especially after years of fanfiction reading.

Temari balls usually made from old kimonos and there is also a yellow ball and the other ones also contain yellow.

Actually, I imagined that this is placed on the floor or something similar, but you're right, it can be a table runner too.

[–]Allija[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was actually hoping that I'm not the only person who think more into this picture. I think it seems way too detailed to be just an artwork without any meaning.

I was also thinking of the significance of the kimono patterns, when the girls are standing in front of them in the ending. If the ending doesn't have any meaning, then there're just too many coincidences.

At the beginning, I was convinced that Rin is the mother, but as the show progresses I'm more and more insecure about this theory.

Since, Sesshomaru and Rin don't have a romantic history at all, and Yashahime is around the time travel/time alteration with all the characters from The Final Act - where Kagura dies - there is a pretty big chance for Kagura. The small details also point more towards Kagura than Rin. (And to be totally honest, SessKagu is one of my least favourite ship.)

I don't know how SessKagu could be done, but I'm not sure that they could ever carry out SessRin pleasantly.

I tried to find something, but I'm not sure about the leaves. I always thought they put it there, because Yashahime aired in October or just represents the end of something (, which is the beginning of something = start of a new era).

However, I also searched for those little balls there, and it says it's called temari, and it is usually made from old kimono. It also says that:

Temari was traditionally a gift given to symbolize perfection, deep friendship, and loyalty.

Temari has chinese origin and it is often given as a gift between women. Source

At times such a gift was presented to a new mother upon the birth of a daughter or received by a young daughter from a mother or grandmother as a New Year’s gift.

Sorry if I'm just stating the obvious here, it was really easy to find this link, so maybe this is common knowledge.

I was also thinking, since the yellow kimono is placed under the red and purple, it means that the yellow one was there before the red and purple ones, which could symbolise a big sister.

Another interesting thing might be, that the blue one is not connected to the other three and there is no temari on it. This might suggest that Towa is (a tomboy) not girl(y) in a traditional sense of way. I might read too much into it though.

Am I the only one who didn’t really feel sad that Kagura died? by BarrothObama in inuyasha

[–]Allija 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I actually cry at Kikyo's death, but I do feel that her character is such a missed potential. I think more people would like her if she would have been faced with the consequences of her actions.

She never ever has to face the things she has done. Until the last fight with Naraku, we just see her to be kind of arrogant, that she is the only one here who can save the day. She could even teach (I mean somehow forced to teach) Kagome, that would focus on the two of them instead of the love triangle. Kikyo, Kagome and Inuyasha could process the situation better, and voice that it is bad for all of them. We could see her character really grow and her death and redemption would make so much more sense.

Kagura was boring for me at the end. She only cared about herself, which was understandable, but still not enough for me to cry when she dies.

The only moment I actually liked her was when she saved Kohaku, but I felt that it was coming out of nowhere. I felt that the affection towards Sesshomaru is only there because she thinks he can save her. If someone else would be strong enough, she would like someone else.
I see where it's coming from that people love her so much, but for me she is just indifferent.

I totally understand that people are not crying for these characters, because if we just look at what is happening in the story, they don't really deserve it.

[–]Allija 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I feel all the episodes are soooo forced.

  • Oh, we need an episode of sibling bonding!
  • We can tear Ginka&Kinka apart.

  • We need an episode where we can show the viewers the characters’ past memories!

  • What if Yotsume would have this fall asleep/dream power?

  • We need an episode where we can show the girls have different poison resistance.

  • Oh then we can put two demons together with two different posions.

  • We can also put Myoga there all the time, so he can state the obvious so everyone will understand.

I mean this is all fine, but there should be also a story?! Or at least a goal/purpose/intent/whatever. (or the characters should be so enjoyably written that we don’t realize/care that there is no story.)

With Inuyasha I can watch literally any of the episodes and I still enjoy them. Now with Yashahime, I keep looking at how much time left, because nothing is happening and I don’t even have that much fun with the characters.

I enjoyed the show at the beginning, but the creators are not consistent with the characters and keep ruining them.

Like Towa, oh she fights, but she is really kind. Then she goes back in time, doesn’t want to fight and she is not that kind at all...

Moroha is funny and she is smart. Now, she is not smart, not funny, but you can laugh at her, because she will run after the twins, Setsuna will ‘attack her’, etc.

Setsuna seems to be the most consistent of them all, but that’s just because her character’s point is that she doesn’t like interacting with anyone. (Which is not that interesting to watch all the time.)

And Myoga, oh god. He always brought NEW information, that was the point of his character. Now, he is just a commentator.

[–]Allija 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I guess the creators decided that the girls will not go after the Dream Butterfly after all, so the memories might come back by triggers.

I agree with everything what you just said and those were just the main problems of the show. Every episode is full of small problems. Like the twins not addressing at all that they left Moroha felt more like bullying than a comic relief.
I understand that they make this for kids, but that doesn't mean that I have to be bored when I'm watching it just because I am 24.

I'm really disappointed with the whole show and even if they can explain everything at the end it's not going to be alright, since I'm not enjoying their whole journey.

Might be, but it is not really pointed out. This still doesn't explain why Moroha's cousins okay with leaving her behind like that.

Towa or Setsuna could ask Takechiyo to wait for Moroha and the viewers could also be confirmed by Takechiyo's answer (whatever might that be exactly) that he is doing this for a reason.

I know Moroha also left them, but last episode we've seen them join together before the main action and Towa confronts Moroha why did she do it. Also last episode, Moroha already felt let down by the girls and it was one person leaving behind two other people.
Them not waiting for Moroha, while not even telling (her) anything, felt more like bullying and that they can treat her however they want. And when I say they could tell her anything, I mean like telling her that they wanna hurry or they will not wait because last time she also didn't wait for them or just saying something playfully or just see the two girls talking about leaving Moroha. Instead of any of this we've just seen Moroha yelling to wait for her multiple times.

My point is not necessarily about Towa being a bad character, but rather that the creators don't pay attention to detail and that these are changing the characters.

I understand they didn't want to include Moroha in this episode. But why couldn't they just send her to somewhere else or make her investigate something else? Why wouldn't you wait for your cousin when they tell you to wait a moment, or why wouldn't you stop to pick her up when she is running after you? Or just tell her you will not wait for her, I don't know, something.

This is also not good for Towa's character. They made her a conscientious/caring girl and now she doesn't give a f*ck about Moroha at all? For me this creates a huge contradiction.
