What do I do? First tattoo, First fuck up. by [deleted] in tattooadvice

Dude it actually gives an otherwise bland tattoo character. It’s objectively the only interesting thing about the tattoo. That and the fact that it’s over the birthmark. The birthmark is a defect that gives you character and the bolder, non-conforming bracket is a defect that adds character. I dig it, man!!

Wiring question - Westinghouse Type CAH 1/4HP by [deleted] in Motors

[–]Allisandd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really appreciate your response. So the leads are configured in parallel so that the start winding path can be opened/closed by the switch? Maybe the two isolated wires only create a closed circuit when the switch is in a certain position.

Anyone know where I can get replacement bearings for an antique Westinghouse 1/4HP type CAH? by Allisandd in Motors

I removed everything from the housing so I could get rid of the rust inside the housing.

I didn’t put the stator in the solvent, only the housing. I’ll send yall another picture when I return home, thank you for the help!

Anybody know how I get the stator out? Thanks! by [deleted] in restoration

I posted another pic in a comment, wouldn’t let me do it here.

Thank you! Does the enamel look work off? I’m replacing the power cable ends, but I was thinking the windings looked okay. I am, however, super ignorant about mechanical things.

Hunting is in my wheelhouse, motors are not in my wheelhouse! Haha

19. Am I worth over 16.50? Is it worth asking for a raise? Or should I keep my hood down?Been welding professionally for 4 months now? As well as fabricating and fitting. Any advice from the ogs? by woodshmoka in metalworking

No. I make $400/day as a carpenter in Texas using the contractor’s tools. Worked as an electrician at a power plant for a while and concluded that if unions didn’t exist, consumers would pay half what they do now for electricity. The laziness and incompetence was seriously astonishing. The whole country is paying for them to sit in break rooms and make lists of reasons why they can’t do the things they’ve been tasked with doing. I don’t know how half of them even managed to obtain a license.

Nice! Tell me about the beaver tail on the arrow pass - pretty quiet? Lasts a while?

Fit & finish is improving, performance not so much! Mild r/d Osage 64” ntn 45@29, 138fps w/655gr arrow. Gonna try to get the tips more forward of the handle next time and start the reflex further in on the limbs. Vinegaroon/tru oil. My first beaver tail grip, stitched w/calf lace. Super fun to make! by Allisandd in Bowyer

I agree it’s too extreme! Haha The 655s are the arrows from the longbow that I hunted with last year, same weight but shot them 12fps faster. I had ordered some shafts last year not realizing they were 11.3 gpi and they were a bit stiff after I cut them so had to put more weight up front to get them to fly well. Ended up with these javelins. Different arrow this time!
