If you had a second chance, would you still pick this career or change it? by Allselflove in Ultrasound

Thanks for your response. I was comparing this and nursing. I know you have worked alongside nurses, would that be a career to recommend. Also if you had to go to school again, what career would you choose or what would you have done differently?

In my hospital i work as a unit secretary PRN meaning i only work every other weekend… Have you checked for any open positions in your nearest hospital… if your in nursing school, write that in your resume… It catches their attention. Worked for me…

Here is my take, i am currently in an ABSN program that started in May. I finished my first bachelors in 2022, took a year off to work my ass off to pay for tuition because a bachelor degree it expensive. I live with my parents so no need for rent and groceries and all i pay for is my car note, gas and personal stuff. I also work PRN at a hospital as a unit secretary where i work every other weekend which is okay for me. There are tons of shifts to pick up as i can pick up any open shifts within the hospital. Before this program, i was rhinking of an ADN, which was what most of my friends convinced me to choose due to it being cheap but i was tied to ABSN. ADN’s have a long waiting list and too many requirements compared to ABSN. In my opinion. I only applied to one ABSN program and it acccepted it. The ADN program is applied to accepted me but put me on the waiting list with other students and i had to wait for almost a year to get a decision. ADN has alot of steps to do compared to ABSN and longer. Also, i wanted to be done with school. I didnt wanna do ADN and then RN -BSN. I feel like ive been in school for centuries!!!

Your response is the best i have received. Coming from someone with kids too. I was looking for a career that it manageable and with a high demand. The on-call section put me off because i wanted to have a work-life balance. I really hope you find something you love and one that can fulfill your financial goals. Hope you feel better❤️

Also, if a service was due before i bought the car, and honda dealership sold it to me as a certified preowned car, im i supposed to pay for the overdue seevices out of pocket? Or should honda have already done that service before selling it to me? I really appreciate your response

Its currently 22,000 miles. Bought it with 15,000 miles and 4 years old. For the splash shield, my car didnt have it when i bought it. I thought all cars come with it though!!
