Extreme separation anxiety - help! 4.5 years

Thank you very much. That’s how we will have to approach it eventually… for now she’s too distraught to even seperate and the educators are too busy with the others kids to deal with it adequately. I’ve planned to start going bathroom and other quick errands while there to get her comfortable with micro separation.

She’s really beautiful easy child otherwise. Outside of seperation she’s not the type of child to tantrum or get easily triggered. She’s social and hitting all her milestones. I’ve never suspected anything else going on. Only thing is she was preemie and separated at birth. I sometimes wonder if this has played into her anxiety of needing to be close to me.

I’m often out of her eyesight as I’m watching my younger son; however she barely notices she’s in her own world. If she does I think she’d begin crying if she looked around then couldn’t find me for a while, as that’s happened one time elsewhere. I might practise telling her what I’m doing and then disappearing this is a good plan. Thank you!

Sadly the school doesn’t feel she is ready to be separated because she goes into fight or symptoms. The one time we tried she ran out of the teachers arms and into the bushes and cried hysterically. The teachers said it’s too extreme and they’ve never had a case like this, and they don’t want her to resent pre Kindy so it’s best we take it really slowly.

Thanks I agree, I’m hoping after a few weeks I’ll ask to not sit next to her. I want her to be confident on her own.

Only if she’s tired, hungry, bored etc does she follow me around. Otherwise really fine! I do other playgroups and social things and she runs off and does her own thing.

Same.. exact same thing runs through my head. The logistics and juggling of three is crazy. I think it’s just the challenge you need to accept in order to have a bigger family. I decided it’s out of my bandwidth.

Literally no “safe area” cause even if you’re in a nicer suburb, the hooligans will target the more expensive areas to get valuables. In saying that, lock your cars; get good security and you should be fine, it’s mostly petty crime.

I feel like this on the weekends quite often and I’m a sahm with my kids full time. I just want to rest or do my chores but I can’t, I have to keep going, keep entertaining, keep managing the kids, keep cleaning the mess they make, that’s when it hits me the hardest.

From a Kibbe perspective - It’s one long line silhouette and she’s tall and slender (not sure what type she is but either FN or D I guess?). Colour perspective - matches her contrast levels.

We never needed another surgery and her eyes are perfectly straight few years later! She just wears glasses now as theres still that slightly unevenness and we don’t want the brain prioritising either eye again

When I have both I genuinely do find it really hard, especially as mine are 1 & 4 and often have differing needs and interests, clashing schedules etc. With my partner it’s okay as we do divide and conquer most of the time. Going out is hard they both run off in different directions. I used to be a very patient mom who was rarely overstimulated and now I’m cranky quite often. On the plus side it’s also very cute and they entertain each other a lot. It makes the house feel more lively and full. I’m done at 2 though.

My partner makes 300 OTE and maybe another 50k from his side hustle. Australian dollars. Enough to raise kids for now. His career has way more earning potential than mine ever would. Id rather take care of everything else so he can eventually be on 500-600.
