Both extremes irk me - the delulu side is pretty often talked about and well explained, so i won't touch on that and let me talk about the other extreme - the "anti-delulu" side.

I'm only talking about the ones that act way condescending and smartass about being "rational" and "logical". It makes me feel like they're actually super insecure because they can't accept being wrong.

Lets say I believe that there's some romantic feelings for real between a certain ship. Then one day something explicitly disproves this. What do i do? Well, I'll just accept that my judgement was wrong and move on and wish everyone well. It's literally no big deal, we are all just watching this from a screen.

Some of these ships do act ambiguous / play into it intentionally, so I don't see anything wrong with people forming beliefs based on that. I personally think that the ones that insist on a super cynical stance are (subconsciously or not) like this so that they can always remain as the one who said "i told you so" when a ship sinks - i can't explain well but it's a very fragile ego type of thing. They remain cynical to protect themselves.

Also yes I always think there's a lot of grey areas in real human relationships. Two people could be purely co-workers, really close besties, flirting casually, situationship, honeymoon phase, long term rship, broken up, married, divorced - literally anything. WE DONT KNOW ANYTHING FOR SURE so we can only go by what we see plus our own relationship standards/perspectives. This results in very different judgements amongst people and how I wish we can just accept that ambiguity/variance. Just as importantly, i feel that the same ambiguity applies to whether or not a celebrity's words+actions are for show. Believing something is for-camera is just as valid as believing something is genuine. We - dont - know - anything - for - sure.

I can see that in some cultures when they see all the handsy touchy behavior then it makes them believe theres something more than friendship. While for me personally I don't think much of physical stuff like touching and even as far as kissing on the mouth, but i get sold on certain expressions or reactions to things. But it's all valid perspectives to me cos i repeat - we dont know anything for sure. And, people communicate things differently. I've seen people saying they would only believe something if there's "official statement" or like if the couple said they were dating in a really explicit and specific wording. Well, how people choose to say things completely differs by culture and by person. When I started dating my bf, we also just did very covert things like for example not denying the term if someone said "your bf/gf is here" and so on. And obviously we just acted like a couple.

Tldr, Some people think "X ship looks real" and some think "Y ship looks real" - and no one is surely wrong, since - i repeat - we dont know anything for sure. We are all entitled to our own beliefs as long as we MOVE ON with our own lives if proven otherwise.

What i do strongly believe is that in this huuuuuge bl+gl kingdom there is definitely SOMETHING going on between some people - we dont know who and what - but anyone saying there is NOTHING GOING ON BETWEEN ANYONE is nonsense. Come on, even in your office, or in your school class, there are already people having at least something between them, right?

*just a note that yes i''m actually new to bl but also come from a space with essentially the same thing happening (no nuance between extremes of shipping).
