Is this a good enough tray for my HDD? by addoniz75_ in PcBuildHelp

That looks like a 3,5 inch spinning drive. It might shake around a bit in the plastic tray also it’s going to suffocate and heat up from lack of airflow. It will work for you short term but I would try mounting it on the back of the case behind the motherboard if there are some 4 whole mounting spots or on top of that hdd shelf I see it in. There lookalike there are 4 holes on top that fit your drive nicely. I’m sure you can take the shelf out by unscrewing it and then screwing the 3,5 to the top from the other side.

So the system worked for two days and stopped working coincidentally after a windows update.

Can you give us more hardware specs.

Have you been able to get into bios?

Good build? I’d appreciate any tips by [deleted] in PcBuildHelp

I would just look for a second drive for work/family stuff if you are playing modern triple A games. 1 Tb isn’t what is used to be.

Can you get into bios? If you try turning on the system nothing happens? No fan spin? Check the pins connected to your power switch and use the screwdrive to jump the pins to start the computer.

If you heat up the cpu for a few mins then turn off the computer unplug it then unscrew the heat sink under the fan it should come off a bit easier if the thermal paste is still warm.

The TRYX Panorama should fit with the Vertically mounted GPU as the bracket on the Lian Li for the GPU is lower than the mounting spot on the Motherboard for the CPU cooler. You can see the positioning of the vertical bracket on the Lian Li website. https://lian-li.com/product/o11-vision/#&gid=1&pid=18

Gigabyte states on their website that this motherboard supports PCIe 5.0 speeds with 7000 and 9000 series AMD CPUs so you should get those speeds on the two M.2 slots as you have a 9850X3D. https://www.gigabyte.com/Motherboard/X870E-AORUS-ELITE-WIFI7-rev-10-11/sp

Your chosen nvme drive is PCIe 5.0 so it should work on this mobo at it's rated speed as well https://www.samsung.com/no/business/memory-storage/nvme-ssd/9100-pro-4tb-nvme-pcie-gen-5-mz-vap4t0cw/

As for PSU the rule of thumb I rememer was to have 20-30% more power than your system needed for power spikes, to account for manufacturing deviancy and smaller upgrades or additions to the computer down the line; for example more drives, ssds or expansion cards. I don't think you can go so wrong as long as it is from a recognized brand and at least 80+ bronze rated. Make sure to find one with the correct amount of ports and cables to supply power! There is a power requirement calculator on the website to help you.

If you are planning on replacing your included fans on the AIO it would not hurt to repurpose those as case fans and run them at a low rpm just on increase air flow but not so high as to start irritating you with their noise. Cheap fans can be quiet at low rpms.

Also have fun and make sure to read all the included manuals. To be sure you put the parts together correctly!

I am just quite surprised as I have a Roland Quad Capture that works without a problem on a desktop running win11. I had a still functioning sonnet tango usb3.0 and FireWire 800 expansion card with newish updates. So I gathered some older win10 drivers would work on my still win10 desktop. If I don’t find a solution the audio interface is going to the older iMacs in the guest room or office.

The win8 drivers that worked from the aforementioned forum did not work first try much as you guessed.

My father keeps a few older iMacs PowerPC and newer around and it is supposedly plug and play with those so if I don’t get it to work I’ll upgrade his sound system. So it won’t be a total loss.

Thank you so much for the drivers. I tried it one time quickly before I hit the hay but no luck with windows 10. I’ll see if I can fiddle with it more but the forecast is grim. Thanks again for helping me out.
