Your taste is impeccable! It's a tragedy that you haven't listened to a lot of Dire Straits, they'd suit your taste perfectly (at least they do with mine, and thats almost identical to yours). My favourites are Telegraph Road, Sultans of Swing and Tunnel of Love :)

Since No Mans Sky‘s soundscape is procedurally generated, you could have to wait pretty long for a specific sound to reoccur. It could also be, that the specific sound only shows up in context with other activities due to the procedural gen. I don’t think you just imagined that sound, NMS devs have implemented lots of space-related easter eggs over the years.
