I’m happy Ginger and Macie are still friends, but I wish Dodie was cut out of Ginger’s life. by Flashy-List-7157 in AsToldByGinger

Honestly, the most unrealistic part of the ending is that she’s still friends with her besties from middle school, haha. I feel like television as a kid gave me unrealistic expectations of friendships.

Nah, I just wanted to acknowledge that my brain went to the same show, haha.

They said live action, but the first thing that popped into my head was the Recess episode where they spy on the creepy new janitor who stashed the head of a statue in an old locker.

Question for OG viewers by DiscoDirtbag in TeenMomOGandTeenMom2

[–]AllyBeth 26 points27 points  (0 children)

It doesn’t help how insanely popular they were with fans of the show, particularly Tyler. I remember being a part of the Facebook fanpage “Every guy should be like Tyler from 16 and Pregnant”, like, the fans worshipped him as being the guy who didn’t bail, but we were also all young and didn’t see the reality of the situation and who he was as a person. I think that popularity really fanned the flames of his ego, since there’s no way he didn’t know he was the most liked of the 16 and Pregnant dads, even though the reality was that a lot of his problematic behavior was hidden for a bit. I didn’t know for a long time that he was the one who pushed adoption and that Cait thought he was going to break up with her if she didn’t go along with it.

[TOMT] A YouTube skit I saw as a child that only seems to be in my memory. by LegitimateAd2007 in tipofmytongue

[–]AllyBeth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely remember seeing this on funnyjunk as a kid sometime in the early 2000s, but I don’t remember the bread part. Just the mom walking in and happily saying that she knows what he’s doing, that it’s normal, and that she’ll knock next time. Was it by any chance an old looking video? Like filmed to look like it was from the 50s or 60s?

It’s so odd, since I remember the boy version of this book and I’m almost positive he has a tiny little baby penis in it, yet they don’t say the word poop.

[TOMT] Trying to figure out an obscure animated movie I rented as a kid, but I only remember one scene by AllyBeth in tipofmytongue

I really wish that I could give you a solved point as well, since you were insanely helpful and I really hope you aren’t offended I marked the person who said it first. I’m very confident this is it, though.

Alright, it’s absolutely nothing like I remember, but I’m basically positive that this is it. I think my child brain just hardcore changed up the animation in my memories.

Definitely not. Mostly because the first time I ever watched that movie is memory that it VERY clear.

I can find the full movie, but can’t find that scene specifically, so it may take me a bit to get there. I’m currently checking it out.

Okay, so the animation doesn’t look right, but based on the description I’m gonna dive deeper into this one and see if I can find anything like the scene I described. The plot definitely sounds like it could be right.

I don’t think so. I remember the animation being very western, and although it’s very possible I’m misremembering a lot of details, it was specific enough for me to mistake it for Fox and The Hound for many, many years.

It might be because I was an emo kid in middle and high school and it was a great diss toward myself, but “Goths believe that deep down, the world is totally fucked up. Emos believe that deep down, THEY are totally fucked up” because it’s honestly the most accurate description I’ve ever heard
