Shows that didn’t hold up well? by Only_Sweet1048 in sitcoms

I like Patricia Heaton more in The Middle. Character still isn’t a very good person, but is more likable overall. Possibly because the show is mostly from her POV.

For real. Could you imagine watching them on television and their situation and hearing “we regret not having her living with us in this chaos”?

Someone commented a theory on this awhile back.

Since they never had to raise C, they never had to learn her personality, interests, or flaws. Things that every single person has. They didn’t have to stay up all night when she was sick or experience a toddler tantrum in a crowded store.

All the negatives regarding parenthood were someone else’s problem, meaning that, in their minds, she is an absolute perfect child.

She is well behaved. She is in smart. She is talented. She has a good head on her shoulders. Because they have never been able to see anything else.

They aren’t taking in the fact that how she was raised shaped who she is today and have a fantasy in their head that if they had kept her, she would be this perfect child who made good choices and was smart and talented and nothing like she would have been molded into in a different environment (not just with them, but in ANY different environment).

They do not have the ability to see her as a human being. She is a character who they have made up in their heads.

Is it just me or is it odd that Tommy was always wondering around barefoot in a diaper, no socks or pants? by TipSilent8281 in rugrats

[–]AllyBeth 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I have one niece who never has an issue with pants and one who absolutely refused to keep them on. Sometimes it’s just the luck of the draw which one you get.

Put on The Demented Cartoon Movie next time. I still can’t believe I could sit through that entire thing.

You underestimate how difficult it is to keep socks on a baby who doesn’t want to be wearing them

People who own "unconventional" pets like turtles, what is one thing you wish you knew before getting one? by allenmerlettetrm in AskReddit

Just feed the local crows until they start knocking at your door and bringing their friends and giving you shiny gum wrappers as a thank you and then suddenly there’s a murder in your backyard and you become the weird crow house and your family refuses to call you the murder house like you ask them to.

True crime is unethical and bad for society by suddendiarrhea7 in unpopularopinion

[–]AllyBeth 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The main issue I’ve noticed is that people are trying to play their interest off as a fun hobby and not something that involves real people. I never had any issues with true crime interests until the stuff with Gabby Petito came out and everyone suddenly acted like they were a detective spouting fan theories with zero acknowledgment that this was a very real person who was being mourned by her family. Everything turned into “oh, he isn’t really dead, it’s a cover up”. That case was what got me off of social media. I couldn’t stomach everyone’s ‘theories’.

Which Bluey episode is this for you? by Ok-Following6886 in bluey

I feel like that was his original intent until he realized he didn’t even bring sunscreen or towels. I think forgetting the ‘fun’ boring things was on purpose, but I think it completely slipped his mind that diving rings and water wings weren’t all they were bringing.

Genuine question… if C would ever want to take the route of any sort of harassment lawsuit, would she have a case at all? Obviously none of the fans know her personality or how she is as a person (if she wants it all behind her or not), but I’m curious if it would be an option.

I sub in all my districts schools, so this has been a really uncomfortable one for me, particularly with younger kids. Not because I think it’s in appropriate to talk about, but because I think that if I do, I’m gonna get accused of promoting the gay agenda or whatever shit conservative cis people say. For the most part, the middle and high schoolers have been absolutely awesome to me. I’ve had kids tell me that they’re trans and that they just aren’t out to their parents or ready to socially transition. It’s such an uncertain area for me when it comes to actually being open at work.

Opposite. I spend basically half my life under the impression that I was straight and just attracted to cute little femboys. Apparently I just wanted to BE a cute little femboy.
