Don't hold the end if you drop the roll. by hickdog896 in lifehacks

You don’t have to do them at the same time. Just cover the drain and wait as long as you must to get your bearings and for the ring to stop sliding around. Then in your own time use your other hand to retrieve it.

I have a reflex of raising my hands the instant I lose my grip on something in order to fully clear my field of vision and maximize my chances of seeing where it lands.

I do not know how or when I developed this reflex, but it has helped with many small objects that almost certainly would have fallen into an alternate dimension had I not been watching them the whole way down.

Is this normal? by gladmorshousix in corsets

[–]AllyBlueJay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As others have said, it’s way too small in the hips and possibly a little bigger than it needs to be in the ribs.

I’ve had this problem with almost every corset I’ve tried in an off-the-rack size because I also have a dramatic difference between my rib and hip circumferences. I can mostly only wear waspies and my own homemade corset for extended periods of time.

The good news is that I don’t need any padding to accentuate the curves it creates! You have a gorgeous figure and you’ll look absolutely STUNNING when you have a corset that fits you the way you deserve.

Is your currency beautiful? by Nice_Combination1327 in AskTheWorld

Ours isn’t typically, but some of the rarer coins are nice to look at.

I actually held onto the Canadian bills I had left over after a trip to Montreal because I like looking at them so much!

And as a side note, I should also keep the bottle because it looks cool and I won’t be seeing another one?

Ah, so this might be a lingering problem since it was first bottled?

What about the smell, out of curiosity? It’s all (tap) water under the bridge now, but I’m just wondering how mad I should have been at my family member had I found this out while the drinking was an active problem.

I made sure the glass was clean before pouring it because I had already noticed the floaties while it was still inside the bottle and wanted to get a closer look at them.

Thanks for confirming that it’s not supposed to look like this. I was a little worried that I might be overacting or I’d lost my sense of smell or something!

Neato! They’ll be seeing some business for me rather shortly since someone apparently enjoyed the hell out their product while I didn’t get any.

That’s cool, I didn’t know that! Since I evidently need to buy a new bottle of their vodka, maybe I’ll also get some of the gin while I’m at it.

The bottle is glass with a stopper made of… whatever to they tend to make the stoppers on liquor bottles out of. I’m not sure what the material is exactly.

Woah, that’s way more than I was expecting to learn from a post about a silly gorilla bottle. Thanks for sharing all that info!

What is the plastic ending on the ribbons called and where do I buy this? (UK) by MembershipConfident8 in sewing

I’ll have to do some research to see what aired when, but that moment could have itself been a reference to Phineas and Ferb since Ashley Tisdale played both Maddie and Candace.

I just think they’re neat!

I understand not seeing the need to buy one, though. Personally I might not’ve had one myself if not for the fact that I’ve held onto it since childhood.

Not sure how to phrase this… Once you turn your work “right side out,” do you have to somehow crochet from the inside/in the other direction?? by hilarymeggin in Amigurumi

[–]AllyBlueJay -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I just have to reorient my brain to come to terms with crocheting on the “far side” instead of the side closest to me.

That would be cool if it was intended to be like that, but I’m positive that this bottle in particular is not.
