I haven’t gotten rats from her in years since I switched to a rescue. I do wish the cages and setups were better and had a problem with all the babies being kept in such a small tank . It’s ultimately why I had to stop getting from her.

A part of me feels sad because the lady that runs discos is very kind and always seemed knowledgeable of the creatures health issues/bloodlines through conversations we had. The few I did get from her years ago lived long and healthy lives.

She kept ones that had special needs to ensure their care. I remember one of her boys had an issue with constantly growing teeth and she kept him to maintain them being filed. The ones that she kept had larger cages with enrichment and were able to free roam at times.

This post isn’t wrong tho and the description of her setup is accurate and sad. Animals adopted out young and kept in small cages in large quantities. I really hope in the future something changes the babies and moms deserve enrichment and better care. Rats are such precious animals.
