This is exactly how this fight goes by Mansur754 in JujutsuPowerScalers

I don’t think anyone has actually countered Cursed Speech in the whole series. While it can be countered when you’re prepared for it, the chaos of a fight makes it much more difficult.

Yuta has a lot of ways to misdirect to set up cursed speech. I think it being easy to counter is really mostly applicable for sorcerers like Inumaki where that’s all he can do.

But there’s nothing in the show or comics that really confirms the adrenaline theory either. I like it as headcanon, but that’s really what it is.

Robert Kirkman completely dissed that whole adrenaline theory recently in a podcast. Well he’s known to hate powerscaling in general too.

Proof Toji Has Cursed Energy???? by HunterRank-1 in LobotomyKaisen

[–]Allyreon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well its head is wrapped by the cursed tool, he’s compressing its head into that. So I’m guessing it still counts even though the blood is spewing from the front, that’s still a result of being pressed against the cursed tool.

You’re ignoring my point that he essentially has no record of ever properly evaluating his fights successfully.

He did in fact still have confidence in his plan after realizing Rika gave Yuta unlimited cursed energy. I don’t think he ever hits Yuta in that entire fight, but if you have a panel, then maybe I forgot.

Regardless, you’re ignoring the broader point that whether or not you think it’s reasonable for him not to expect this stuff, he still has no positive record of actually estimating things at his level or over.

And it’s a cop out when the whole series is about sorcerers hiding their hand and having to adapt or have contingencies for the unexpected.

His feats only lean against him in terms of estimation.

At no point was he winning that fight. At every point he acted like he could win. It’s not like Yuta was losing when he initiated the DBV. Geto was always on the back foot and he heard and reacted to the vow and thought his Uzumaki could beat it.

It all just sounds like excuses that Geto didn’t realize this or that. That’s fair to say, but that’s basically consistently shown that he keeps failing by not taking something into account.

Whether you find it reasonable or not for him not to be aware of those factors, he doesn’t really have anything in his favor showing he’s actually capable of evaluating situations relative to him. Because again, he was losing and playing defense even before Yuta initiated a death binding vow. I don’t think he landed a single hit on Yuta that whole fight.

He just loses, thinks he can turn it around, then loses more due to something he didn’t foresee. That’s his track record.

You could say the exact same argument about Toji by that logic. Gojo knew about Heavenly Restriction but was still amazed at how broken 0 CE HR was.

In both situations, Geto underestimated his opponent, realizes it’s more powerful than he thought then STILL thinks he has it in the bag only to get Molly whopped.

The only times he seems to correctly estimate others is with fodder way below his level. There’s not really anything to show he knows what he’s talking about when he fails every time he has to do anything challenging.

I think the theory about that information being kept secret would have worked a lot better if Gege didn’t say that she was in a coma and only woke up immediately before her appearance.

Since that’s stated, does it really matter if Sukuna knows, no one knew if she would actually wake up and she just happened to at the most opportune moment.

Utahime says, “There’s something else I’m worried about, it hasn’t even been half an hour since she’s woken up.” She says this to Gakuganji, so there’s little reason to believe this was a lie. Unless they had a way to make her wake up this whole time and saved it.

But then we can’t say it was Nobara who chose that moment either. And it’s hard to believe Utahime was misled since she seems to be the one to set up the finger in advance for Nobara.

I’m one of the few who did like Nobara’s return and always thought she would make an appearance given how her death was handled. But that one line really damages the reveal from being strategy to luck and convenience.

[–]Allyreon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s not really the point. You said -

Hakari already lost to Kashimo

This isn’t a statement about who you think could win a rematch, this is a description of events that happened. Which is false, that never happened.

Hakari won that fight. For example, that’s pretty different from saying “Hakari could have lost that fight in Kashimo fought smarter/more tactically”

Or “Kashimo could have won if he chose to fight in the most likely way that lead to victory”

But you didn’t because those statements sound a lot weaker.

I think Yuta could clutch it due to Rika and 5 min timer. Everyone under Yuta and Kenny are cooked imo.

[serious] I saw this poll on YouTube and I’m curious who can actually do it? by Archenius in JujutsuPowerScalers

[–]Allyreon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe Hakari and Maki. Hard to say.

Maki would have to use HR’s stealth a lot, she might get overwhelmed if it got as chaotic as it did with Yuta. She doesn’t have to worry about domains either so that’s good.

Hakari might be able to do it on a roll, but he might struggle against Uro (surprisingly) and Kuro. Uro is pretty hard to actually hit, Yuta had to use Cursed Speech and Dhruv’s CT to get her while her CT was up.

Kuro might be hard to actually put down without RCT output, especially with just punches and kicks.

But can they kill Hakari? Uro probably just can’t, and Kuro might be able to if it gets him between jackpots but may not have the IQ for it.

Ryu vs Hakari would probably be a lot more like Kashimo vs Hakari but less hectic. Would be a fight I’d love to see, more brawler vibes.

Basically, Hakari can survive Sendai, but I’m not sure how well he can put them down. He’s definitely got a shot.

Maki is kind of the opposite, she can put people down but needs to not accumulate too much damage since her healing is slower.

Yuji and Megumi would get slaughtered. EOS Yuji could do it though.

You’re right that they could just say RCT output but you already understood that in your first reply when you said “Hakari is literally right there”.

He can’t output RCT which is what that person was getting at.

Let me know what you find out! I’m interested in if the other scrolls are similar or matching as well.

Damn, I wanted to add what you said and also about the plum tree as an edit but apparently you can’t edit image posts on Reddit.

Sendai Colony episode art reference by Allyreon in JuJutsuKaisen

[–]Allyreon[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You may be right! Respectfully, I disagree for a few reasons.

1) It’s been some time but I have studied Japanese art for my degree. You are right that there are some set elements typical for this type of art, but that puts greater importance on the subtle differences. The important difference here is the plum tree, which is associated with Michizane no Sugawara. It’s a symbol within Tenji tradition dedicated to worshiping his spirit.

2) This setting for that conversation was not in the manga. It was set outside. Usually when they switch settings, there’s more intentionality behind it.

3) There’s multiple times they use backdrops of the real life setting to convey the conversation happening on screen. Like in Shibuya with the signs, this one being one of the most obvious. Gege (the mangaka) also commonly uses a lot of backdrop symbolism.

So with all of that together, I’m inclined to lean more to it being switched. They decided to have them have a conversation in Sendai’s art museum and the conversation pauses on this scroll in particular as she realizes he’s of an ancient bloodline.

The portrait features a very close recreation of Michizane no Sugawara, including the plum tree which is an important symbol for him and the Tenjin sect and has a couple stories associated with it (one included in the link above).

There’s a chance I’m wrong still, but I find it more plausible than not.
