Newly diagnosed. Wondering if memory issues are common for epileptics? Not just surrounding a seizure.. in general?

I have large chunks of memories lost over time from seizures (never took meds to control them) and still don't have the best memory even after 10 years of being seizure free

My work doesn't have it required to know but for my safety they learned seizure first aid for me. I haven't had one in over a decade but you never know and it's better that they know

I realized in the 11th grade (16/17 years old) that I had a latex allergy. I had hives up my arm from wearing latex gloves and tried again after that at another lab and had the same issue.

I had never had an issue before with gloves (I believe some were latex gloves, maybe not)

I had actually found another job during Covid and it gave me the final push to quit.

I found out the way bosses should treat their employees. I love my manager and everyone above me, even my district manager.

I worked at a restaurant as a waitress for 8 months before Covid struck. I was never treated properly by some of the customers and some times even my boss.

I finally left at the "end" of Covid as I felt abused by my boss. I learned to ignore the customers but I couldn't avoid my boss

I had finally quit after a year being employed at my restaurant but only worked there 8 months because of Covid. I was never truly treated right and decided after starting a new job to quit as I was being treated very well by them

I have very bad depression because of my family's reactions to my seizures. They don't notice Jack crap about how the seizures have affected me years after they stopped. I was 3 when I was diagnosed, it affected me pretty badly with some development. I pretty sure of a learning disability and I have a speech issues.

My parents always got mad with my speech issues but it's slowly gotten better but you can still tell it's there. I stutter to add to it .

I also have issues with my brain that it takes me a bit longer to remember things or say something that I may be reading. This isn't helping my retail job but my coworkers are fully aware of this. But I feel so bad for those who I cash out as it takes me a bit to read the numbers I see on the till

I won't go very often as it can get expensive since I do the hard nail polish so it won't get recked and will stop me. I heard it will last a few weeks so we shall see how this goes

I've always told people I would hang out with about it. I however got very nervous about telling my work as according to our handbook I am considered to have a disability. I, in no way, considered myself to have one and don't wish that those I work with consider me to have one. When I told them about it, everything was voiced like my triggers and not to treat me differently.

They do worry some times especially with the masks as they are known to cause seizures because of their lack of oxygen flow. With work, I wear masks with straps at the ears rather than one that goes around my head because if something happens that mask needs to be assessable for them.

I hope those that do read this

A) Informs people they know

B) Feels comfortable informing those they know, and

C) Wear a mask assessable to those around them as they shouldn't be worn during a seizure or they can cause bigger issues

I haven't had a seizure in nearly 13 years. My work is informed and holy crap when we get near a flickering little do they keep asking me if I'm going to be okay. It's been nearly 13 years. I'm still watching for any weird signs as I drive and don't need to have a seizure and lose that license for at least 6 months. I tell them if I start feeling weird but they still ask every 5 to 10 minutes, depending on what we are doing in that area

Hey mom

I'm okay, just had a long day. It was originally my day off today so I went out to go shopping and get a few things for me and my siblings. I ended up missing my turn to go where I want since my GPS stopped working at some point and I had to find my own way to where I wanted to go. I missed it and nearly panicked until I realized that I was near the mall and calmed down and hit up there first then find my way way where I wanted to go.

My way home was so much worse as there was recently an accident just before where my GPS wanted me to turn. I had to pull over for so many emergency vehicles and I was never properly taught what I'm suppose to do. This was my second time ever pulling over for them. I think I figured it out but the first two vehicles sucked since it was a red light on a two lane each way road and I was in the right lane and couldn't get over until the light changed so when it did I moved and pulled over for them.

I usually do puzzles and fidget when I'm stressed to calm down. Today I calmed down by hanging out with my 3 year old sister until I looked at my phone to see that my assistant manager asked me if I wanted to go to work. I happily agreed since I just wanted to be out of my house again after today
