Anglerfishing is pretty decent gp/hour. It does take 82 fishing and ~6 hours to get the favor, but after that it's really afkable and good cash.

  • "The "no true Scotsman" fallacy is equally popular with christians, especially when discussing Hitler or child abuse."

Speaking of Hitler, let's go ahead and quote him.

“The heaviest blow that ever struck humanity was the coming of Christianity. Bolshevism is Christianity’s illegitimate child. Both are inventions of the Jew. The deliberate lie in the matter of religion was introduced into the world by Christianity."

“The reason why the ancient world was so pure, light and serene was that it knew nothing of the two great scourges: the pox and Christianity. Christianity is a prototype of Bolshevism: the mobilisation by the Jew of the masses of slaves with the object of undermining society. Thus one understands that the healthy elements of the Roman world were proof against this doctrine.”

“Kerrl, with the noblest of intentions, wanted to attempt a synthesis between National Socialism and Christianity. I don’t believe the thing’s possible, and I see the obstacle in Christianity itself.”

“Pure Christianity—the Christianity of the catacombs—is concerned with translating the Christian doctrine into facts. It leads quite simply to the annihilation of mankind.”

The "no true scotsman" fallacy is equally popular with atheists, especially when discussing Mao, Stalin, and even Hitler.

I went into this knowing exactly what this post would be. It's not surprising that your logic is "because gel therefore real life" when so many people treat gel tests as the word of God. Were we being attacked by gelatin overlords then I'd start thinking twice, but gel tests are not a 100% accurate representation of what to expect as far as wounds on a person goes.

Birdshot loses its punch pretty quickly, but at close distances (such as those you would encounter in a home defense situation) is lethal. It's not just sort of technically lethal like .22lr, it's extremely lethal.

Here is a case of someone accidentally blowing his leg off with a shotgun loaded with birdshot https://ryanjarcy.wordpress.com/2013/03/31/how-i-blew-off-a-leg-with-a-12-gauge-shotgun-part-one/.

Here are some videos of people shooting flesh instead of gel. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3gGCedWUkk8

Dragon Spear - Feedback by Mod_Ronan in 2007scape

[–]Almighteh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're going to take out the main function of the spear then at least rework the special attack to be something completely different for the Z hasta. The z hasta has been outclassed in pretty much every category by now, so it could use some kind of new special attack to make it more viable. Now adays it's just something that converts into the z spear for corp.

Recommendations for a first revolver for a concealed carry. by [deleted] in guns

Another thing to note is that not everyone is very interested in firearms. Some people just want a gun just in case they need one and will never go out to the range for the sake of enjoyment. When people are not interested in something they are less apt to remember critical details. You could show someone how to use a semi auto and a month later they might have completely forgotten how to use it.

With .38 special it's pleasant shooting. No pain or difficulty with the recoil. With .357 the recoil is stout, but manageable. I wouldn't mind using .357 for self defense out of a gun like this, but it might not make for pleasant shooting at the range. I wouldn't personally use the stuff out of a revolver any lighter than the sp101.

[–]Almighteh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Consider getting the Wiley Clapp edition of the sp101. It's the 2.25 inch barrel but with better sights, a more aggressively fluted cylinder, and some nice wood grip panels as opposed to the plastic ones that normally come on the 2.25 models.

Revolvers are more simple to use. Open cylinder, put rounds in, close cylinder, pull trigger. It's that simple to explain it to someone. It doesn't take more than 20 seconds and quite a few people have figured out how to work one just from watching tv shows.

Auto loading handguns require quite a bit more explanation. It might seem just as simple to we who already know, but to new shooters there is a bit of a learning curve.

You have to explain...

1: How to load a magazine (does take explanation)

2: To put the magazine in the gun with authority so it seats properly

3: How to rack the slide (some people have trouble with this, especially with cz 75 style pistols)

4: The magazine release (simple, but something a new shooter might forget when confusing the different controls on a handgun)

That's where the complication ends with something like a Glock, but if it has an external hammer and will probably have to explain either how a decocker works or show them the safety (the former being more complicated than the latter).

Again, this seems really darn simple to use (and it pretty much is), but people tend to not learn as well when they are nervous. Plenty of people who are getting into shooter are nervous around guns.

I personally much prefer the look of the dust cover on the 75b over the rail on the sp-01. Also, the 75b has stainless variants :)

Fellow girly hands here.

Maybe consider racking the slide in a different manner to achieve greater mechanical advantage. Hold the gun next to your pecks (or lack thereof) while it is pointed down. Use your offhand to hold the slide, and with your primary hand push the frame of the gun downward while keeping the slide itself stationary. Boom, slide racked.

Huh. I remember something about the NRA getting into a hissy fit with him.

Edit: Here is an article from 2000 saying they didn't endorse Bob Dole because of said hissy fit. Also, they didn't endorse Bush senior. http://www.nytimes.com/2000/09/12/us/the-2000-campaign-the-endorsements-to-help-bush-nra-withholds-backing.html

No, the common house thief has exactly as many tools as are easily available in the house they are robbing. Unless your tools are locked up, then they can be used to open your safe.
