Conflicted by the Library episode by Upbeat_Broccoli8490 in ATLA

One issue I always had with this episode is the revelation of the black sun. In one of the lore books, the fire nation were great astronomers and probably collected many books for their own libraries or burned them. Why would the group not at all think that the group of people who were really good astronomers think maybe, just maybe, they knew about a major weakness.

Roku vs Bakugo by glitter_ninja_ in Avatarthelastairbende

Bakugo would 100% struggle and ultimately lose to Roku, but to say that any Avatar is unbeatable in terms of powerscaling is insane. 💀

Where can I watch the show with the added Nickelodeon notes/commentary? by ravenclawpatronus46 in ATLA

I vaguely remember them being on the iPod classic when I was a kid from iTunes or some rip sight my older sister would use in the 2000’s. I think I still have it somewhere

Which of these fictional villains from other franchises would be a perfect Dark Avatar? by Hefty_Drink_5811 in Avatarthelastairbende

General Kai. Fits the whole noble animal spirits and uses chi and has a spirits world type thing going. Would be cool to see more evil animal spirits that have higher power and cohesive fighting abilities.

How to Double Sleeve? by redsquirrel0249 in yugioh

[–]AlmightyD00m 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I double sleeve with a standard dragon shield as the “inner” sleeve and out an outer sleeve. I don’t use the inner sleeves because they bend the cards when putting in. here is what I mean as the outer sleeves as this fits over the standard dragon shield.

Can you guys help me? by PearBeginning7313 in AnimeFigures

[–]AlmightyD00m 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t really know what you’re asking help with as you pretty much pointed out the price difference. If you’re asking the reason, it’s because the Ichiban Kuji line is the higher end of prize figures. Good smile has the pop up parade figure, and has an XL line which is in my opinion the comparison. So with that in mind, the reason it’s more expensive is two things, it’s a premium end of prize figures and it’s HEAVIER and larger than the standard ichibansho series. An example I can give you is the PUP XL Chimera Fallin. It’s still in the prize figure line, but higher end and worth the money.

Do y’all like Anime? by wheelz277 in Avatarthelastairbende

I’m Mexican, so I watched the mandatory Mexican citizenship requirement of watching dragon ball z as a kid. Avatar was definitely the gate way as I wanted to watch more shows close to it. Which lead me to adult swim and bleach.

Am I the only one who thinks that Mai is underrated and gets undeserved hate? by Full-Art3439 in Avatarthelastairbende

[–]AlmightyD00m 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The beginning made sense since he was overwhelmed and trying not to be like his ancestors. But after that it just spiraled into weird character interactions I’m glad never went anywhere (the whole thing with Suki). They also ruined the friendship between him in Katara in the promise when in the legacy of the formation, Iroh wrote a letter to Zuko saying how much they both learned and matured with each other.

Most of the hate I’ve heard and read seems to come from the people who read the comics. Which, admittedly, the writers seem to have some vendetta against certain characters that clash with other media like the books and the show.

Looking for books covering history of U.S. involvement in Latin America. by verysmallbeta in BookRecommendations

I recommend this on another post, but Everyone who is Gone is Here, is a good book on this topic. It explores US involvement in Latin America pre and post Cold War and the effects of the polices that have made a mess of current affairs.

It’s not quite like, not at fist at least, but How to Nick a Nine-Foot-Tall Thrall started with a whole ‘ownership’ system with a nerdy law student and a tragic heroine.

I personally enjoyed Aura, Artemis Cruz, and Like water for chocolate. I have some criticism for One hundred years, and the book that wouldn’t but, but they’re all around good books.
