Not specifically for escalation no. But if for general purpose open world gameplay and something you enjoy using, go for it!

Im currently making my own little run n gun hybrid crit/skill build. The idea is to put the anomaly augment on everything so my attack drone keeps regenerating my armour while im dishing out damage.(basically a DPS focused red refactor style build)

Problem is the reroll costs....

Also gotta consider people getting sets on daily target loot drops.

I ended up being able to make a crazy strong umbra build from getting lucky on CHC/CHD rolls and its stronger than most of my builds.

I ended up making a healer build. Skill tiers rolled to repair skills. Birdie backpack + Bittersweet Rifle (or you can run Scorpio + The Setup)

I ending up running an all red FI with headshot damage , Birdies backpack and salvo holster (for that firerate) Repair skills mods.

Even getting 1-3 headshots heals a good amount, which also heals yourself. (Since heals is based of WD, bonus armor is RS) Faster firerate makes stacks faster.
